I recently attended the Empowered Podcast Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I wanted to share some key takeaways and insights from this enlightening experience with you all. The Journey to the Empowered Podcast ConferenceAttending the Empowered Podcast Conference was an exciting endeavor. I usually attend the Indy Pod Conference in New Jersey and have been to DC PodFest in the past, so this was a new experience for me. Thanks to a 20% discount code shared by Alex Sanfilippo from PodMatch, I decided to make the five and a half hour drive to North Carolina. The drive was pleasant, filled with beautiful weather and a slew of podcasts to keep me company. First Impressions and Connecting with Fellow PodcastersUpon arriving at the Hyatt in Charlotte, I checked in and immediately gravitated towards the communal table on the second floor, where conversations about podcasting were already underway. Meeting the conference founder and various podcasters felt like reconnecting with old friends. Being around people who share my passion for podcasting was a rejuvenating experience, despite my family sometimes growing weary of me mentioning the word "podcast" countless times. Setting Intentions: A Unique ApproachThe conference kicked off with a unique session on setting intentions, involving a guided visualization exercise to help us focus on our goals and what we wanted to achieve from the conference. We were provided with journals to jot down our thoughts on what we wanted to embrace and let go of, which was a first for me at any conference. This session helped frame my mind positively for the rest of the event. Networking and LearningAn exciting part of the conference was the opportunity to meet Alex Sanfilippo from PodMatch, who gave an insightful talk. One of the highlights for me was how the entire event was woven around the theme of intention and authenticity, especially relevant as my goal is to foster community growth within the podcasting sphere. Defining IntentionTo define what intention means, intention is a plan or goal aimed at achieving a specific purpose. For me, intention signifies clarity and purpose, especially in the context of my podcasts. My key takeaway was the need to be clear about our intentions and how we can be of service to our audience and guests. Refocusing and Building CommunityDuring the conference, I reflected on my

The Audacity to Podcast Review
I started my podcast journey back in 2006, yeah a long time ago and that makes me one of the OG podcasters, however, I didn’t get serious about it until 2016 when I moved to Fredericksburg Virginia, and started going to a meetup held by Kyle Bondo who runs a few podcasts and a media host company called Once Told. While attending that meetup I wanted to get better at podcasting and make new friends as I am originally from the Chicagoland area. Kyle recommended a few podcasts about podcasting and one that caught my attention was The Audacity to Podcast. So, for this episode, I know where I found this podcast, I was listening to Dave Jackson’s Podcast Rodeo, which we have reviewed here, and Dave was reviewing Clear and Vivid with Alan Alda. Here's The Thing with Alec Baldwin Review
My review of Here's The Thing with Alec Baldwin This review may be a bit controversial due to the person who is the host of the podcast. I am reviewing Here’s The Thing with Alec Baldwin. He has been in the news lately for the tragic incident on a recent film and his portrayal of former President Trump on Saturday Night Live.  This review is about the podcast and nothing else, so if you were thinking that this was going to be an expose on Mr. Baldwin, I am sorry to disappoint, however, I think his podcast is definitely binge-worthy hence why I am reviewing it. Arts Books The Paris Review
Get Your Literature On So I have to say I love the Paris Review as a periodical that I read 4 times a year and when I heard they were making a podcast I was an immediate fan. Unfortunately, they have been on hiatus since May of 2022 but they are in production of season 3. That is my only complaint about this podcast. The print version dates back to the 50's so they have a wealth of a catalog to use and their production value is second to now. Help me by pestering them after you listen to a few episodes to have them make more content. Best Money Spent on Podcasting I am so happy to be reviewing Podcast Me Anything. This podcast is a great podcast about podcasting. Mathew Passey is the mind behind the mic for this one and he really is a knowledgeable person with a wealth of experience in radio and podcasting. I met him back in 2018 at MAPCON/IndiePodCon and have been following him ever since. Stay tuned at the end for a great interview with Mathew.    website https://www.podcastmeanything.com/  Host Mathew Passey and Ben Killoy Number of episodes at the time of recording 78 Avg time per episode 29 minutes The first episode drop Feb 25, 2019 Description An Ask Me Anything for all things podcasting. Kids and Family : The Second Half Podcast Review
Who Helped Me Find A Podcast I have a story about how I found today's podcast. I was on TikTok, I am 50 get over it, we are Gen X we are everywhere, and I saw this guy with a thick Chicago accent, yes we have accents, and he was talking politics. I listened for a while, followed him, and saw more of his TikTok videos in my feed. Then I heard the magic words “on my podcast”. I looked at his bio and there it was, Thomas Powell Jr has a show called the 2nd Half podcast.   Stats for the Show Website https://oldhippiemedia.com/podcasts  Host Tom Powell Jr Number of Episodes: 183 Avg length 60 minutes First published: 2 March 2018 Description by host: The Second Half Podcast discusses the events of the world as they are viewed through the eyes of a Gen-X hippie in the second half of his life.   Email:TheOldHippie@OldHippieMedia.com    Frequency: weekly   Facebook  Twitter Instagram   Podchaser Listen Notes ranked top 2.5% of podcast in this genre Support Page     Info for Find A Podcast About: email timothy@findapodcastabout.xyz Twitter @Findapodabout FaceBook @Findapodcastabout Buy Me A Coffee Teepublic I want to thank you again for taking a listen and if you want to Outsmart the Algorithm and have me review a podcast email me timothy@findapodcastabout.com or go to the website findapodcastabout.xyz where you can listen to the other episodes and leave me a voicemail. I am protective of my reputation just like you should be for your audience. This isn’t a show to spam people about your podcast, this is being of service to my audience, and I will always have that as my guidepost for this show. Finding a podcast takes time and patience and can be rewarding, as well as frustrating. Let me help you find your next bingeworthy podcast. Let’s outsmart the algorithm. Society and Culture Benjamin Walker's Theory of Everything
Special Announcement   Before I get to the episode, we/I want to take a moment to address the June 24th Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe versus Wade. This decision stripped away the legal right to have a safe and legal abortion.  Restricting access to comprehensive reproductive care, including abortion, threatens the health and independence of all Americans. This decision could also lead to the loss of other rights.  To learn more about what you can do to help, go to podvoices.help.    Today I will be reviewing Benjamin Walker's Theory of Everything.
