In this open and honest discussion she tells Angela her deepest fears about the surgery, her banter with the surgeon and her relief at being ablke to see, hear, speak and move after the operation.

Five weeks into her six week course of radiotherapy, it has been a bit up and down for Angela. But there is a knight in shining armour who comes to her rescue. She also meets two scientists from Elekta, one of the major manufacturers of linear accelerators, or Linacs.  And she hears from the Brain Tumour Charity about their new partnership with Relate, to help couples who are going through difficult times as a result of the brain tumour diagnosis.

Angela is half way through the six week course of radiotherapy to treat the residue of a brain tumour she had removed five years ago. In this episode, she talks to TV presenter Nicki Chapman about their matching meningiomas, She also talks to a physicist responsible for the treatment planning, and is able to see the machine going over her during treatment which she describes as "like a UFO". She also arranges a special visit for a physics teacher who had radiotherapy last year.

In Episode 3 of A sense of Tumour, presenter Angela Young starts her  radiotherapy begins. Follow her through the first treatment and meet her therapeutic radiographer. She also talks to a psychologist about the benefits of positive thinking and hears some of the songs on the radiotherapy playlist,each song has been sent in by a friend or family member.

The second step on Angela's journey through a course of radiotherapy to treat the residue of a brain tumour. Angela goes for the mask making appointment which will hold her head in place during treatment and finds it strangely pleasant. She describes the cacophony of sounds made by the MRI scanner, meets a radiotherapist who decorates masks for children who are frightened by them and she talks to the Chair of Cancer Research UK about funding for research into brain tumours.

They say laughter is the best medicine - so join me on a sometimes humorous but hopefully informative journey through a six week course of radiotherapy for the residue of a brain tumour I had removed five years ago. I go for a baseline neurological assessment (the idiot test!) and talk to TV presenter Victoria Derbyshire about owning a new experience by bringing it into your sphere of experience.
