** This is the live DJ set recording from the Ecstatic Dance portion of this "Root.Rise.Release" Full Moon Breath & Dance Ritual from the end of December that celebrated my 44th solar return.This notable moon ritual is a larger gathering with Tao blessings/energetic transmissions, cacao ceremony, brief discussion about astrology & current themes, and an hour of somatic breathwork, which all lead into an ecstatic dance journey (DJ'ed by yours truly) to move some energy and celebrate the full moon, the new season, new astrological/energetic year, community and life! A social and light potluck will round out the event.Cacao is the plant medicine offering for this ritual. I have been serving this beautiful heart-opening elixir because of my understanding that the heart is the gateway/portal in which we receive the highest truth and infinite wisdom from our Soul (or universe). Thus, having the heart open helps us to be able to access this information.The BREATH is everything, it happens both consciously and unconsciously. When we bring our awareness to it and breathe with intention - big things can happen. Somatic breathwork invigorates the body, mind and spirit as we bring this up-regulating breath of life through our bodies, exploring all parts of us. When we breathe in this way, our nervous system becomes awakened which results in the ability to access stagnant energy and emotions that have been stored deep down in the body. This can present physically such as temperature changes, shaking, yawning and cramping (which can also be caused by the fluctuation of our blood chemistry). We can also experience an array of emotional experiences from anger, sadness and grief to joy and bliss. Sounds are encouraged and space is made specifically for that as it helps to tone the Vagus nerve and to move energy. All of the sounds and emotions are welcome - all parts of YOU are welcome.Dance is another powerful and potent form of medicine to heal the mind, body and soul as physical movement aids in transmuting (stuck and or stagnant) energy held within us. My ethos with how I guide ecstatic dance is through the chakra system, from root to crown; the music is to activate these different parts of us and help move the energy through our being. I mindfully guide us from the breathwork into slow and gentle movement as we build the energy back up during our dance. My "job" is to move us from stillness up to peak states and back down again, allowing for wild expansion and returning to a grounded and harmonious state.The process is magic, and when everyone in this large group allows their magic to flow, it is an unbelievable experience.
