Queerability

Across Rainbows

Queerability is an empowering podcast exploring LGBTQ+ identity, culture, mental health, relationships, and more.

Hosts Nick and Ellena have raw, honest conversations about what it means to be queer in today's world. Through personal stories and thoughtful discussion, they tackle topics like coming out, dating and relationships, discrimination, activism, self-care, and finding community.

Nick and Ellena believe that being LGBTQ+ comes with superpowers - resilience in the face of adversity, empathy and compassion for others, courage to live authentically, and freedom to define oneself. They explore how embracing one's queer identity can be a source of strength, confidence, and inner power.

At times, Nick and Ellena are joined by inspirational queer guests from diverse backgrounds, providing perspectives on navigating life as an LGBTQ+ person. They discuss issues relevant to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, and questioning individuals.

Queerability sends an uplifting message that no matter your sexuality or gender, you have the power to thrive as your authentic self. By building a thoughtful, inclusive community, the podcast provides support and encourages queer self-love.

Join Nick and Ellena on Queerability as they discuss mental health, relationships, pop culture, current events, and more through an unapologetically queer lens. Discover the superpowers that come with living life out and being proud.

Welcome back to Queerability!Today, we are honoured  to have a living LGBTQ+ legend and activist, Father Bernard Lynch. For seven years Bernard studied philosophy and theology in preparation for ordination to priesthood at the African Missions College twenty-six miles from Belfast. This happened during the inception of the troubles in Northern Ireland. TIN: The Sounds of Tin

TIN: The Sounds of Tin
Today's guest is, TIN. He is a queer Australian pop singer songwriter blazing his way through the UK. Inspired by the boy bands and girl groups of the noughties, TIN loves to create pop music that gives you all the feels. TIN’s lyrics are often about his misadventures as an outlandish gay creative just wanting to inspire and move people.Prior to the pandemic, TIN toured Europe with over 20 shows in six different countries, during which time was sponsored by international underwear brand, Andrew Christian. He has since released cover music videos for two of his childhood favourites - Viva Forever by the Spice Girls and Bye Bye Bye by ‘NSync. 2021 marks his first original release in three years to celebrate Pride month with his dance track, Firm. This will be the lead of several original tracks for his upcoming EP, Sex Cologne and Cigarettes which he has dubbed his ‘stories of being a f**k boy in pop music form’."I like to write about real life things: experiences that everyone has, but sometimes don't have a means to express. I find great songs maintain a balance of being unique and relatable all at the same time and when people hear this, a connection is made. I strive to have people connect through my music, whether it be with me or with one another"In this episode we discuss:TIN's coming out story and getting into musicQueer music and artiststhe barriers lgbtq+ musicians facewhat does representation mean in for queer people in musicTIN's future and new music releasesMy Take away:TIN is a very passionate artist and a big advocate for LGBTQ+ musicians. He has strong views about the current talent with the LGBTQ+ community. He discusses his concerns regarding talented performers who are losing opportunities due to a mediocre mindset, as well as performers who hold themselves back because they down want to be labelled as a 'queer artist'. Which makes question; "why are we still trying to conform to what is expected of us (LGBTQ+ community) rather than what we want to do?". For more information on TIN and his latest release "Stung", check out his Spotify, Youtube Chanel, and Instagram. This is an Across Rainbows production, an LGBTQ+ organisation determined to redefine Queer Identity.
