Our Editor's Take

Killer Instinct is a true crime podcast that wants to spread awareness of every victim. Host Savannah Brymer investigates the world's most terrifying crimes and mysteries. As victims' names too often get forgotten, Savannah wants to make them known. She explores events leading up to the crimes and why the search for justice is so challenging. The host invites listeners to share their perspectives, too. Her ultimate mission is to find justice for the victim's families.

Killer Instinct explores a different case each week, with daily episodes at Halloween. It shares more familiar, high-profile cases as well as lesser-known small-town mysteries. In the episode “Bill McGuire: Dismembered Body In Suitcases,” the search for answers begins with the discovery of a body. Who is behind Bill's brutal murder? And is a secret pregnancy part of the story? Savannah shares all the dates and details for listeners to follow. This includes revealing Google searches that helped solve the case.

As well as unsolved cases, this podcast also explores horrific survival stories. Savannah returns to the 1960s in the episode “Barbara Mackle: Surviving The Grave.” At age 20, Mackle was buried alive and held for ransom for three days. The episode discusses how the FBI's search for the perpetrators went wrong.

Another tragic story features in the episode “Ashley Wadsworth: Online Dating A Criminal.” Ashley met her boyfriend online and left her home in Canada to be with him in England. Their relationship wasn't what it seemed, and he killed her before she could return home.

Some stories encourage more questions than answers, such as the murder of Diane Kyne. There's an intriguing confession in the report of Cindy Borton's stabbing. Each Killer Instinct podcast episode may get listeners thinking and creating their own theories.
