Our Editor's Take

Almost every movie has a pivotal scene that gives audiences an overall impression of the film. The Eye of the Duck podcast examines such scenes and movies. It's a podcast for movie lovers presented by movie lovers.

The show's creators named the Eye of the Duck podcast after a concept coined by filmmaker David Lynch. The Twin Peaks writer and director believes that the eye of the duck gives insight into the bird's core. Certain details, particular scenes, and dialogues define a movie. Hosts on the podcast discuss these and other elements of films.

Dom Nero and Adam Volerich are the cohosts of Eye of the Duck. Dom is a senior creative producer at Esquire magazine. He writes about video games, films, and tech. His cohost, Adam, is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, and director. He started his career as a stop motion animator and has various short films and feature films to his credit.

Adam and Dom are movie fanatics, and their passion is evident on the podcast. “Drowsy Dom” and “Caffeine Adam” (as they referred to each other in one episode) discuss movie scenes that interest them. They outline precise details in movies, character development, franchises, and monsters.

The podcast addresses a wide range of movie genres. Mission Impossible, Toy Story, Beyond Infinity, and Lost Highway get discussed. Other movies of interest include Dawn of the Dead, Godzilla, and Alien. Their mutual love of the film arts shows in the quality and depth of their analysis of movie scenes and plot lines. The hosts also talk about cinematography, directing, and all film-related things. Film fans may enjoy the conversations on this weekly podcast.
