A Classic Case Of Mistaken Identity

A Classic Case Of Mistaken Identity
Welcome back to your favorite podcast! Today, we're diving into a topic that's both profound and profoundly personal: our identity in Christ. In a world which is constantly telling us who we are, who we should be, and what we're worth, it's easy to get caught up in the noise. We may find ourselves allowing our identity to be defined by our past mistakes, our current circumstances, or our possessions. We may seek validation from others, or even listen to the lies of the enemy, who seeks to steal our true identity and replace it with a false narrative. This classic case of mistaken identity is all too common. We've been looking in all the wrong places for our true identity, which can only be found in the unchanging, unwavering truth of God's Word. As Christians, we know that we're more than just our struggles, our strengths, or our successes. We're more than just our earthly identities. We're children of the Most High God, adopted into His family, and given a new name, a new purpose, and a new destiny. But accepting this inheritance and living out this destiny requires us to believe what God says about us, even when the world, our past, or our own doubts scream otherwise. It requires us to anchor our sense of self in the unshakeable truth of Scripture, and to let that truth transform us from the inside out. In this episode, we'll explore what it means to find our identity in Christ, and why it's the key to fulfilling our destinies. We'll delve into the lies that seek to steal our true identity, and the truths that set us free. Join us as we discover the power of living in our true identity in Christ. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/macc-fenner/support
A Cult of Personality, When Loyalty Trumps Faith

A Cult of Personality, When Loyalty Trumps Faith
Welcome back to Frontal Lobe, your favorite podcast! :-) This month, we explore the intersection of faith and culture. In this episode, we'll be tackling a critical topic, which is both timely and timeless: the temptation to idolize political leaders and the importance of prioritizing our discipleship to Jesus Christ. In an era marked by deepening political divisions and increasingly fervent loyalty to party and leader, it's easy to get swept up in the fervor. We may find ourselves thinking, 'If only this person were in charge, everything would be okay.' But as Christians, we know that's a false promise. Our ultimate hope and salvation come from Jesus alone. When we elevate political leaders to a position of saviorhood, we risk creating a cult of personality. We begin to see them as the solution to our problems, rather than recognizing that true transformation comes from our relationship with Jesus. This can lead to a dangerous blurring of lines between faith and politics, where our loyalty to a leader or party trumps our loyalty to Christ. But what happens when that leader fails us? When their humanity is revealed, and they can't deliver on their promises? Where does that leave us? As Christians, we know that our ultimate allegiance belongs to Jesus, not to any earthly leader or ideology. Join us as we explore the dangers of political idolatry and the importance of keeping Jesus at the center of our lives. We'll discuss how to maintain a healthy perspective on politics while avoiding the temptation to elevate leaders to an unhealthy position in our hearts, one that they were never meant to occupy. Enjoy today's show, as we delve into this critical conversation and discover the freedom that comes from prioritizing our discipleship to Jesus above all else. Be sure to join in the conversation! Real Men Talk

Real Men Talk
What an honor it was to have the opportunity to interview podcast host and author, Anthony Curnutt. Here are a couple of quotes of his which really stood out to me during the interview. “When we come under absolute obedience to Jesus Christ, we are performing at our peak for our families, and for our churches, and for our communities.” Love it! Want next-level performance? Obey God. I hope “obey God” are the last words I utter on this planet. Then, Anthony brought up an interesting point. He noted that the Bible refers to Jesus as the Word more than once. And the Greek word used for “Word” there is “Logos”, which is where we get our word “logic”, which is literally the foundation of our very thinking. And to this end, Anthony said, “so the very foundation of our thinking should be in Jesus Christ”. I must say that this revelation is very motivating, and I’m so blessed that he shared this with us.  Thank you, Anthony! When he was talking about why he wrote the book in a way that every man can read and digest it, he said “I want to give the everyday guy a foundation, a framework in which to build upon, in a biblical sense, to become a biblical man. Not that they can mirror the book, but they can mirror Jesus”. Anthony’s humble response to the big things God is doing with this book is inspirational! And when I put him on the spot and asked him to put into one sentence exactly what he wants men to get out of his book overall, his sentence was not only insightful and discerning, but it was also a pleasant surprise. “Does my vision of masculinity line up biblically?” Wow! That says it all!  It’s amazing how such a short and simple sentence can be so profound! If the men in this country would perform some introspection to answer that question, the cultural moral of our entire society would greatly improve! Every aspect of our lives would be enhanced and enriched. What’s next for Mr. Curnutt?  Well, I’m excited to hear that he’s going to continue the Biblical Masculinity concept, this time focusing in on how to cultivate an environment of biblical masculinity. Here’s another quote: “Now that we have the framework, how do we pour into the next generation and the people around us?” He’s also working on a video study program with the Biblical Masculinity concept for the purpose of birthing men’s ministries inside of churches or for use in small group settings. So exciting! All these things, along with speaking engagements, 2 podcasts (yes, 2 of them), coaching for men, a job, a wife, and 6 (yes, 6) kids, make Anthony a very busy man. We’re so very blessed and honored that he took time out to be on our show and is allowing us to be a part of his amazing journey! And, of course, as always, the Monk had an astute quote I’d like to share with you as well. He said, “women don’t like passive men”. I can always count on the Monk to provide the most profound truth in every conversation! What would I do without you, Monk? I just hope your awesomeness rubs off on me! Lol Stop what you’re doing, go to Amazon.com and pick up a copy of Anthony’s book “Framework For Biblical Masculinity” today! You can also find a link on his website, www.realmenministries.us. And if you’d like to partner with Anthony and his ministry team, give him a shout at realmen@palaceofpraise.com and become a sponsor! It may be the most important thing you do today! Stay in touch with Anthony on all the social media platforms, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter! He would love to hear from you! Look for Anthony Curnutt or Real Men Ministries. And of course, don’t forget to check out his amazing podcasts, Real Men Talk and Without Apology, which are available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, or wherever you like to listen. Limits Of Science

Limits Of Science
If you Google "how has science helped humanity", you'll get a huge list of examples. Think about how convenient our lives are, how easy it is to hop in the car and talk hands-free to someone, while you're driving over, getting your email notifications along the way. Buy your movie tickets online and scan the QR code at the door for a smooth transition to the snack line. Or just pull up your favorite movie app on your phone and cast it to your TV, so your whole family can enjoy it, assuming it's not already streaming on your go-to streaming app. GPS, the internet, digital banking, the moon landing, our understanding of the universe itself, and much, much more... The examples are truly endless! But when it comes to faith & walking with Christ, does science help..., or can it actually hinder...? See, I don't think science can answer the most existential questions in life, like "why do I exist?" "What is my purpose?" "What is my value?" Some allow science to be somewhat of a religion to them. And that's dangerous! I mean..., if there isn't enough quantifiable scientific data to specify the parameters around moral values, then do I really need them? If the hypotheses that my wife loves me as much as I love her isn't backed up by the scientific data, then maybe she doesn't. And the most dangerous frame of mind... If the theory that there is an omnipotent God, who loves me unconditionally, isn't able to be quantified and measured by the instruments of man, then perhaps there is no God, and perhaps I'm not loved. Perhaps I should allow my feelings to guide me, allow how I feel in the moment to define my identity, and assume my inherent value, based on the data at hand... Despite the many advantages it has provided mankind, science has some obvious limitations. In this episode, we discuss THE DATA which proves it! Let's get into it! Make sure to stop by some of our other platforms for additional, auxiliary content, like YouTube, where you can find the interactive "Praying For You" initiative every Monday, Wednesday, & Friday! And don't forget to swing by Rumble for the latest videos! We're getting some great feedback about that venue... As always, we invite you to find a home at our website, FrontalLobePodcast.com! From there, you can get to many of the other platforms we're on, audio & video, and you can listen to some recent episodes. Go to the "Learn More" tab and get a feel for what's new. As always, we encourage you to reach out and stay in touch. Engage! We'd love to pray for you, and we'd love to tell your story in the "Answered Prayers" segment of our show! If you need prayer, please don't hesitate to email me at Macc@FrontalLobePodcast.com. Tell me your name and the details of the situation you'd like me to pray for. United We Stand
Nov 21 2023
United We Stand
Hey guys, welcome back! You know, the Bible has many verses which encourage us to take care of those in need. James chapter 1 tells us to take care of orphans and widows. Proverbs 11 says that a generous person will prosper, whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. 2 Corinthians 9:6 says “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” Galatians 6:2: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” I could go on and on with scriptures which talk about sowing seeds and deeds, sowing your finances and your talents.  And although it’s ultimately up to you, you’re not alone.  We must stand together in unity for those who can’t stand for themselves. That's why this episode is titled United We Stand! I’ve got one more scripture to share with you:  Hebrews 10 says to spur one another on toward love and good deeds & encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Notice that the word Day there is capitalized.  I like that!  Now, if you are a Christian, you know that Day is approaching fast.  Even non-Christians are feeling it in their spirit.  More and more people are giving their lives to Christ as each day passes.  It’s truly an exciting time to be in the Kingdom of God.  And as people come aboard, it is our duty to lead by example.  We must submit to the will of the Father and live like Jesus did, love like Jesus, give like Jesus.  And where does it start? It starts in your home, in your neighborhood, in your city.  We must sow into our communities. Sometimes, there are organizations and non-profits, which make that task extremely easy.  And that’s why I’m so excited about this interview with the CEO of United Way of Mid & South Jefferson County, Janie Johnson. Check out the United Way website and get involved today! https://www.unitedwaymsjc.org/ --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/macc-fenner/support
