Our Editor's Take

When two hilarious brothers and their buddies get together, shenanigans rule the day. The We Got The Chocolates podcast is a funny, pun-filled show that leaves many choking from laughter. The lighthearted show is for adults who are not afraid of grown-up jokes. Dad jokes, inside jokes, and ridiculous games reign supreme in the series. Personal tales intermingle social commentary and unique perspectives on world events.

Australians Mitch Drennan, Leigh Drennan, Jana Gillam, Andrew Gode, and Mickus are the "chocs." The Drennan brothers are former professional cricketers turned content creators. The game comes up a lot on the podcast. Andrew is a cricket pro with an Australian league. Jana loves photography, while Mickus is also a social media content creator. On We Got The Chocolates, the group has chemistry and fantastic banter. The show debuted in 2019 and has been rising in popularity since then.

What makes We Got The Chocolates so engaging is the beautiful mesh of hosts, jokes, and guests. Each week features fresh games and antics from the crew. Many praise the show for its authentic and laid-back nature. In one memorable episode, Leigh gives an adult sex education lesson. In another, one person reads racy news story headlines, and the others guess if they are fake or real.

Past guests include sports players, comedians, podcasters, and more. Cricketer Marnus Labuschagne is a frequent guest on the podcast. His conversations with the cohosts are a mix of sports and comedy. He often participates in whatever games the boys and Jana come up with that week.

The hosts say the podcast is for "the kid in every adult." It is recommended for mature "kids" over 21. Sports, current affairs, movies, music, and pop culture come up on the podcast.
