Learning To...Be Amazed
Apr 1 2024
Learning To...Be Amazed
"Learning To... " is led by Pastor Carolyn Hetrick and Pastor Scott Schul of Grace Lutheran Church, State College, PA. Each week features breath prayer, a passage from scripture, music and reflection before sending you out with grace. Today we are  "Learning to Be Amazed" as we join the women who show up at the tomb of Jesus expecting to grieve but are met with astounding news- Christ is Risen! Have you ver heard something that seemed too big to take in even when it was good news? Or maybe a burden was rolled away and it seems too good to be true. Or maybe like Peter there is a place where you wish you could have a "re-do." Wherever you have been or hope to be amazed, Jesus' story with us continues. Let's keep learning and rejoicing together! Our in person Bible study at Grace resumes on APRIL 3RD  and stay tuned for another podcast series in the fall for Advent.  Today's Scripture: Mark 16:1-8Today's Music: "Jesus Christ Is Risen Today"- Thomas Keesecker's setting of Jesus Christ is Risen Today, from Easter Hope, was recorded with Adam H. "Wait" Advent podcast

"Wait" Advent podcast
How do we capture the sacred nature of these weeks we call Advent, to reflect, make space and prepare our hearts and selves to be placed into God's story? This week Mary travels to see Elizabeth as they are both awaiting births. It is a time of waiting,  between what has been and what is yet to be. How do we wait? We invite you to step away from what is filling our lives, yet unfinished to allow God to speak.  Where do you need God to meet you, to send someone to wait with you? Who might God send you to be with? May our questions become holy conversations and invitations into hope. Pastor Carolyn Hetrick of Grace Lutheran Church in State College, PA leads a time of reflection, God's word, breathing and prayer to ground ourselves and leave carrying a pocketful of grace for the journey. "Making Room" in Advent

"Making Room" in Advent
In these weeks leading up to Christmas, our lives can feel so full we perhaps hope and pray no one asks us to make room for one more thing. How do we capture the sacred nature of these weeks we call Advent, to reflect, make space and prepare our hearts and selves to be placed into God's story? Mary hears she is chosen to bear Jesus in to the world, to make room for new life. We invite you to step away from what is taking up all the space in your life.  As we remember Christ' birth, we  breathe, and make room for Christ, so we can join in God's possibility and encounter God's presence now and hope for the future. Pastor Carolyn Hetrick of Grace Lutheran Church in State College, PA leads a time of reflection, God's words to Mary, breathing and prayer to ground ourselves and leave carrying a pocketful of grace for the journey.
