This specialized force was named CRASH: "Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums" In 2001, a group of officers, including todays guest, were arrested after being exposed by another CRASH officer Rafael Perez, who was trying to get less time after getting himself in a tough situation. Later it was discovered there was widespread corruption within the police unit. This is a story connected to the Rampart scandal from 1998-2000. A Medal of Valor gang cop who became the very thing he was hired to stop. Ruben spent 16 years of an 18 year prison sentence. This is Ruben Palomares story...
