Why does Jordan Belfort Wear a Hublot?
Oct 5 2021
Why does Jordan Belfort Wear a Hublot?
⚙️  Roman, Love everything you’re doing currently! I actually have a question about comparing the rising prices of certain whiskey to the continuing prices of platinum Daytonas. For example Pappy is now $2,600…when it originally retailed for Close to $80! LUDACRIS! Do we see the prices only getting higher or will it eventually crash and burn – Owen ⚙️ Roman I am considering buying either the new 41mm Seamaster 300 but then I came across the new Tudor Black Bay 58 if you take price point out of the equation which would you be more inclined to go with? This is my first luxury watch and I want to eventually give this to my son without him thinking “That’s such an old man watch” – Jericho ⚙️ Roman im not sure If this is a Nico Question or a you question….but im a big fan of the wolf of wall street aka Jordan Belfort and I was wondering if he’s actually wears a Hublot? Why is it that all of the big name ceos wear non hype pieces – Ben ⚙️ Roman, we all know that they bring in money but why do you hate Bustdowns so much? Is there not as much as a profit margin on them? – ChuckieHave a watch or industry-related question? On this episode of Q&A Tuesday I answer the following questions:⚙️  Roman what are your thoughts on the new code 11.59 Tourbillon Openworked? I love skeleton watches but something about this watch doesn’t sit well with me – Artie⚙️   Hey Roman, Huge fan keep killing it! My question for you is pretty straight forward why did the rolex palm dials fall flat on its face? I’ve seen maybe two in the wild and maybe one via the grey market? Do people just not like them or do people just not know what to charge for them? – Sil⚙️   Roman, Like you im a self-made business man. Im looking to put 50k into some pieces as investment pieces. And yea I know “Don’t invest in watches” But if you were to spend 50k on investment pieces today what would you be looking for? Thanks from your friend across the river – Tony ⚙️   Roman going to make this very short, do you think the aquanauts are going to be the next nautilus? How do you think future generations will look back on Artisans de Genève?

How do you think future generations will look back on Artisans de Genève?
On this episode of Q&A Tuesday I answer the following questions:⚙️  I've been really impressed with the latest AP Code 11.59 two tone chronographs with the ceramic case.  I think the contrast really highlights the design of the 11.59 line.  I tried on the WG model at the AP House boutique in HK and then put my name on the list.  They didn't say how long the wait is, but I assume it should be a reasonable time.  I remember in your Q&A episode 89 you mentioned you were buying 11.59s at around 25% off and then selling them at 18-20% discount off retail, but this was over a year ago.  The retail in HK for the ceramic is HKD 332K, which is about $43K US.  Is it possible to get this watch for a discount? Or should I just be happy paying retail for one of the newest models? ED⚙️  As a stock trader I’m curious which currently produced watches (i.e. you could hypothetically buy from an AD at retail) trade the most above their retail price on a % basis?  As a $ amount?  I’d imagine the AP Royal Oak Jumbo and Patek Nautilus are up there, that’s not even too mention Richard Mille.  – Brian⚙️ How do think future generations will look back on the creations of Artisans de Genève, will they retain their value and what makes them different from other watch “customizers”? - Collin ⚙️  Where do you see the Rolex Milgauss Z Blue in the next 5 years? Increase in value, unchanged, possibly discontinued? Chris  Have a watch or industry-related question? Once the Rolex bubble bursts, shall we see another Panerai syndrome?

Once the Rolex bubble bursts, shall we see another Panerai syndrome?
On this episode of Q&A Tuesday I answer the following questions:⚙️  The Rolex game went crazy to the point where real collectors aren't getting them, only dealers and "investors" who may never wear the watches do. What's the real future for a Brand that is slowly dying for its real fans? Once the huge bubble bursts, shall we see another Panerai syndrome? – Franco⚙️  Would love to hear Roman’s thoughts on the new display models and the 3 watch limit at Rolex AD. Would that help the Grey market dealers by driving up the desire for those watches?- Bohua⚙️ Seeing Roman and Adrian turn down $20,000 watches for being $100 too expensive.....if the profit margins are so tight, how do you manage to pay a decent commission to the sales team? What is a typical commission on a $50,000 watch?- Gary⚙️  Which watch did you once adamantly hate, but later came to love?- Diego⚙️   Any watches that you hate? Do Rolex Case Stickers Affect Watch Value?
Jul 20 2021
Do Rolex Case Stickers Affect Watch Value?
When it comes to Rolex watches, some people like to tend to them like they would a baby—with as much care as possible but what is considered overkill when it comes to maintaining a Rolex? Let's discuss Rolex case back stickers. They're usually factory stickers that are placed on the watch but these stickers are not designed to actually stay on the watch. Why then is there such emphasis placed on them? Do Rolex case back stickers affect watch value? And if so, how much? What would a watch collector say? You'll learn more on this today, on this episode of Q&A Tuesday. Also on today's episode, we'll discuss the value of seeing a watch in person and how it affects perception. In addition, I'll talk about independent watch brands such as H. Moser and why the market values them differently.Stay tuned to hear my answers to the following questions:⚙️ Do you think the way you communicate in your videos has set a new standard for the industry? Do you think you are a sort of pioneer?⚙️ What are your thoughts about streaming platforms replacing TV? Would this in any way affect the watch world?⚙️ What YouTube channel do you follow in the watch industry that inspires you?⚙️ Are all of the changes to the JPS Rolex actually deliberate and not accidental?⚙️ How to maintain the quality of the sticker on the back of a Rolex?⚙️ Why is H. Moser & Cie. not that popular? In my opinion, they have the nicest dials. Do you see them becoming popular in the coming years?⚙️ Where do you see the Rolex Sky-Dweller in the future? I've heard of Rolex swapping the dials from white to black or vice versa but never to blue. Has there been such a restriction with dials on other watches in the past?⚙️ Are blue watch dials more popular and rare? Are there only restrictions on blue dials?⚙️ If you are doing business with a stranger who has never been vouched for by anyone, are there certain precautionary steps you might take before doing business with them? For example, when buying for the first time, would you ever open a closed case back to inspect the movement, or bring a loupe or UV light to examine the dial, lumen, etc. Would there be any sellers who might take offense to this or not want to bother with it?➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖Q&A Tuesday is where I answer fan questions that I receive on my YouTube, Instagram, or those emailed to me at RomanSharf@LuxuryBazaar.com. Are Stainless Steel Rolex Watches Made to LAST? My Thoughts on the New Ulysse Nardin Freak?
Today we're talking about my watch collection and the types of watches I try to keep an eye out for, the story behind how my son got his first Rolex, my favorite precious metals and more. I'll also share my thoughts on the latest Ulysse Nardin Freak.Stay tuned to hear my answers to the following questions:⚙️ Can you make a video with your son and his story about his first Rolex? ⚙️ Specifically for SS Rolex, are there activities you should not do with the watch on? Can jet-skiing and golfing damage the internals?⚙️ Do you collect your own watches or just sell them?⚙️ Why isn't there a craze for the Rolex Yacht-Master?⚙️ I notice that some prices of modern Rolex watches differ based by year. Is it as simple as an old box and warranty card?⚙️ Are Rolex Arabic Dials more collectible in the long run?⚙️ What would you chose: Nautilus 5741G or the Nautilus 5711P?⚙️ What is your favorite precious metal? Both in terms of looks, feel and pure aesthetics and investment value?⚙️ What are your thoughts on the newest version of the Ulysse Nardin Freak?➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖Q&A Tuesday is where I answer fan questions that I receive on my YouTube, Instagram, or those emailed to me at RomanSharf@LuxuryBazaar.com. Why Are Watch Dealers and Collectors So Secretive?

Why Are Watch Dealers and Collectors So Secretive?
We know Rolex is a robust "tool watch" but what about other watch brands like Audemars Piguet, Panerai, Omega and others? One viewer is wondering how fragile watches from AP are, and if there's any merit to the rumor. Today we also address the secrecy in the watch industry, as I discuss why watch dealers and watch collectors are so secretive. The reality is not as ominous as you may think. tay tuned to hear my answers to the following questions:⚙️ What do you think about the Rolex Yacht-Master II (YM 42)? ⚙️ Why are dealers and collectors usually secretive around disclosing their particular numbered piece in limited edition watches? (not the serial number obviously but just the "X/Y")⚙️ With the Royal Oak, Nautilus and other "Genta-Esque" watches being so hugely popular in the market, why is the only other brand with a legit "integrated Genta design," IWC and their Ingenieur line, not utilizing that legacy for all it's worth to fuel more hype and attention to their brand? Their most recent Ingenieur design is not bad, it just seems like a hugely missed opportunity. What's your take on the Ingenieur line in general? Both in design and current market positioning?⚙️ Can I try a watch on at your location before I buy it?⚙️ I have the Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 (Ref # 116600) and would like to get your opinion. How many of them do you think are out there? What are your views on the future collectability of this model and where do you see it potentially trading at in the long term?⚙️ Being that box and papers have been a big issue over the last decade, what is the newest watch you would hesitate buying because it didn't have box and papers? I recently saw a 2020 six-figure AP with no papers. How can this be possible? Did his dog eat them?⚙️ What other brands are just as robust and well-made as Rolex and still attainable? (Excluding RM) I have heard that AP's are somewhat fragile. Is this true?➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖Q&A Tuesday is where I answer fan questions that I receive on my YouTube, Instagram, or those emailed to me at RomanSharf@LuxuryBazaar.com. How I Lost $200,000 Selling Million Dollar Watches
Today I'm going to tell you about some of my biggest LOSSES and some of my biggest GAINS when it comes to doing business as a watch dealer. I'll also talk a bit about how brand perception tends to vary internationally, as well as watch demand, why white gold is relatively unpopular, and more. Submit your questions for the next episode by emailing me @ RomanSharf@LuxuryBazaar.comStay tuned to hear my answers to the following questions:⚙️ Have you ever sold a Chinese watch and if not, do you think, in your lifetime, that the Chinese will ever break through to the high-end market? What are your thoughts about the Chinese watch industry now and for the future?⚙️ Can you explain how and why some bracelets hold their quality while others begin to stretch?⚙️ How is Vacheron viewed by yourself and the industry in general?⚙️ Why are white gold watches relatively unpopular compared to steel or yellow/rose gold models? Could that be due to the weight or the look? Or other reasons?⚙️ Could you list a few of your hits and misses? Why Are People Chasing Brands? Thoughts on Bvlgari? What's the Most You'd Spend on a Watch?
Welcome to Episode 18 of Q&A Tuesday! Today I'll be talking about whether or not I feel that greed has overtaken the watch industry, how technology has affected brand awareness and the consequences of it, and what that means in terms of exclusivity and privacy. You'll also learn about the most $$$ I'd spend on a watch personally if I was buying, who I consider to be the 👑 King of Jewelry, and my thoughts on the BVLGARI Octo Finissimo line.📺 Watch this episode HEREStay tuned to hear my answers to the following questions:⚙️ It's hard to find a 41MM Two-Tone AP since it discontinued and favored by iced-out watches fans so, the question is how can someone find watches like that?⚙️ These days people chase the brands and models that appreciate in value rather than what suits them or what sings to them. What's your opinion?⚙️ Do you have an estimate on how many of your customers are watching your videos?⚙️ What do you think about the BVLGARI Octo Finissimo line and its position in the market?⚙️ If you were to go out there and buy something for yourself, is there a price limit where you would go, "That's enough, not paying that," or does it really depend on the piece?💕 BIG THANKS to Suliman max, Gary Smith, Davor Banovic and Kuba Kardás for their questions and comments!➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖Q&A Tuesday is where I answer fan questions that I receive on my YouTube, Instagram, or those emailed to me at RomanSharf@LuxuryBazaar.com. Why Are Richard Mille Watches Worth So Much? My thoughts on Bamford & Hublot Revealed!
Welcome to Episode 5 of Q&A Tuesday! Are we really talking about Richard Mille again? Yes, yes. There is no doubt that the Mille name continues to stir much interest which is why today's first question is one I'm happy to answer. It's true that Richard Mille watches may be a tad overpriced but he does justify his watchmaking and I'll go into more of that in this episode. I'll also talk about Bamford, the first official customizer of Rolex watches. They were a pioneer in the industry when it came to customizing high-end watches and on the resale end, their watches resell very well.📺 Watch this episode HEREStay tuned to hear my answers to the following questions:⚙️ Do you think that Richard Mille tourbillons are worth 6,7, $800,000? Or are they simply a gimmick for the ultra-rich to enjoy? ⚙️ Do you think that there is value in similar watches like the JLC Amvox 3? (Ceramic case tourbillon w/ dual time function)⚙️ What are your thoughts on brands like Bamford or Titan Black and other watch customizers? Do you see any of their pieces ever become sought after in the market?⚙️ What would you recommend as a beginner AP for a person with a small to medium size wrist?⚙️ In your opinion which perpetual (past 15 years) gives the most bang per buck: JLC, AP Quantieme, or Patek 3940, which costs 2-3x more?⚙️ What are your thoughts on the Hublot Big Bang Sapphire and its future value?⚙️ Do you think Instagram has played a role in this? Seems like people just buy unoriginal well-known expensive shit so they can show off on IG. If it isn't recognizable to the masses, buyers have no interest.💕 BIG THANKS to Edward Ledin, Kuba Kardás, Michael Carter, Jack Black, Russxiang, and James Walker for their questions and comments! ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖Q&A Tuesday is where I answer fan questions that I receive on my YouTube, Instagram, or those emailed to me at RomanSharf@LuxuryBazaar.com.
