Jerald ran campaigns outside of his school system tapping into community resources in order to become one of the top art teachers in the state of Georgia. He talks about his early years as a running back in highschool and at Alabama State University (HBCU). We learn that he had a bone tumor on his knee as a senior in HS and lost a lot of scholarships as a result before deciding on Alabama State. He talks about trying a career in graphics after college but ended up teaching special ed on a provisional contract in the county he grew up in thanks to a coach that remembered him.
