The Bomb Hole is a podcast about snowboarding. The host of the show is Chris Grenier. Snowboarding legend Chris embodies the sport's ethos of kindness and authenticity. He was a pro snowboarder, participating in the X Games, and shot many snowboarding videos.
For each episode of The Bomb Hole podcast, Chris invites a guest for a chat. His interviewees are people from the world of snowboarding who have had an impact on their community. Donna Carpenter is the owner and chairperson for Burton. She talks about meeting her husband, Jake Burton, and fitting in for the first time. Donna saw Jake's crazy idea develop into a popular sport and subculture.
Mike Yoshida goes by the dubious moniker "Moose Meat." He is one of the leading photographers in the industry. Mike talks about how he got his start in snowboarding and photography. Naima Antolin exudes joy and infuses it into everything she does. She and Chris talk about her passions outside of snowboarding. She is a knitter, crocheter, and musician. Other guests are Arthur Longo, Stale Sandbech, Nik Baden, Bryan Fox, and Todd Richards.
Some episodes of the podcast are what Chris calls "Group Chats." Instead of the usual one-on-one format, Chris invites friends for a free-for-all conversation. Fans will recognize guests' names, as they are all notable figures in snowboarding. They include Gimbal God, Zak Hale, and Reid Smith, to name a few. Group Chat conversations are more focused on the industry. They love to talk about gear and have plenty of advice for listeners. They share new projects they're involved in and swap competition stories. Group Chats are much longer than the regular episodes and feel like a chat with friends at a bar.
The Bomb Hole podcast is a great listen for snowboarders looking for something to do while they wait for the season to start. Chris' kindness and curiosity make him an excellent interviewer. Snowboarding culture is supportive and kind, qualities he has in ample supply.
