Our Editor's Take

The Quitters Podcast offers a refreshing angle on the act of quitting something. Here, quitters don't hide behind the shame and stigma of quitting. Instead, quitters celebrate quitting. Cohost Julie Bowen said it best. "Everybody wants to quit something," she notes, "or they have."

Bowen and Chad Sanders cohost the Quitters Podcast. The Modern Family actress and Black Magic author come from very different backgrounds. But friendship is the foundation of their partnership, which is why it works so well.

And it shows in every Quitters Podcast episode. They are comfortable enough to talk about anything and everything. Their differences in personality further add to the podcast's character. Whereas Julie is more extroverted in the show, Chad appears to be the introverted one. They continue to strive for balance as the show goes on. Listeners can also look forward to guests introduced as "This Week's Quitter."

There are Meghan and Ryan Trainor, each sharing their respective "quits." Meghan is working on quitting body dysmorphia. Ryan shares what got him to quit substance abuse.

Big Bang Theory's Mayim Bialik talks about quitting Hollywood. My Favorite Murder host Karen Kilgariff explains how she quit drinking. Sam Richardson of Veep talks about quitting sugar.

Quitters isn't only about stories of quitting. There are stories of self-discovery and perseverance too. Actor/director Avan Jogia talks about finding that creative balance. Zoe Lister-Jones explains how she wrote the series Slip during the pandemic. Nev Schulman recalls how his own experience led him to produce Catfish. Armchair Expert cohost Monica Padman is quitting getting in her own way.

Julie's Modern Family family has also dropped by to lend their support. Sarah Hyland, Ty Burrell, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson are also certified quitters. Cast member Ariel Winter shares her story of quitting LA. The Quitters Podcast shows that no quit is too big or too small. Each one is a win. After all, quitting takes guts and courage, too.
