Our Editor's Take

The Positive Perimenopause Podcast helps women through what can be a tumultuous time in their lives. Lots of women might experience the challenges that come with perimenopause. But with host Polly Warren's help, it doesn't have to be a confusing or isolating time. She is opening the conversation to help women become better informed and supported. Anyone on the cusp of menopause may find this show contains plenty of helpful advice.

Perimenopause is the term for the years preceding menopause. In this life stage, women are still getting periods, but it's often a highly emotional time. The new symptoms and highs and lows can be difficult to navigate. To add to the challenge, perimenopause is often an overlooked life stage. Many in the media speak on menstrual cycles and menopause, but little on the time between. Due to this, women enter feeling uninformed, unsupported, and invisible. The Positive Perimenopause Podcast hopes to change this. It brings perimenopause to the front of conversations. That's because the more informed women are, the easier it will be to navigate the journey.

Polly, the host, is a perimenopause coach. She dedicates her work to helping women take charge of their health. With her help, she believes women can return to feeling better than their usual selves. Polly has a calm, considered manner of speaking that empowers listeners. She uses inclusive language and assures women they're not alone in their struggles. Anyone in their late 30s to early 40s and beyond may find her show helpful for navigating this life stage.

Sometimes another expert will join Polly on the show. They speak on everything from redefining fitness to breathing efficiently. Other topics include blood sugar, the pelvic floor, and energy levels. Since the symptoms of perimenopause are diverse, the podcast mentions many issues.

Perimenopausal women no longer need to suffer alone, uninformed, and without help. The Positive Perimenopause Podcast contains an array of information on how to live one's best life. It brings visibility to an often unexplored topic, empowering women along the way.

#99 How To Take Control Of Your Heart Health at Menopause with Michelle Routhenstein
Did you know that heart disease is the leading cause of death globally with more women being affected than men?  In the UK, one in eight men and one in 14 women die from coronary heart disease, with more women dying from it than breast cancer. Falling estrogen levels at menopause,  weight gain, high cholesterol, and increased blood pressure can all affect our heart health but the good news is that  80% of cases are preventable through lifestyle changes. And this is something I chat to this week's guest, Michelle Routhenstein, about. Michelle is a Cardiology Dietitian, Preventive Cardiology Nutritionist, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and Certified Diabetes Educator and is on a mission to revolutionise heart disease management and prevention. In this episode, Michelle:💛 Encourages us to measure the risk factors for our heart health.💛 Explains how menopause increases women’s risk of heart disease.💛 Shares the importance of nutrition and other lifestyle measures for heart health.💛 Breaks down some of the misconceptions about a heart-healthy diet. This is an important topic that we all need to be aware of as we can determine how healthy our hearts are!For more on Michelle:http://www.entirelynourished.com Instagram: Heart.Health.NutritionistAuthor of the Truly Easy Heart Healthy CookbookSupport the Show.To find out more about Just Breathe and to join the Just Breathe community go to: https://www.pollywarren.com/justbreatheTo book a FREE 15 minute discovery call with me go to: https://calendly.com/pollywarrencoaching/15minTo join my FB group go to: https://www.facebook.com/groups/thepositiveperimenopauseclubEmail me at: info@pollywarren.comhttps://www.pollywarren.com/https://www.instagram.com/pollywarrencoaching/
