I Don't Have Any Joy

I Don't Have Any Joy
Have you ever felt like you ran out of juice and couldn't go any further.  Towards the end of 2022, I felt like I had nothing else to give. They say, "you should die empty." I don't think it was my time just yet, but I had nothing Nothing NOTHING left in me! I got to a point where I had lost my joy. I didn't think I could move forward. I struggled walking into the new year. I felt like life knocked the wind out of me and I couldn't pick myself back up. I had become weary and tired. Listen, I know you want to throw every scripture you could think of at me, but it won't change how I felt in that moment. I was no longer looking for my due season, I was wondering about my when season. When would this burden life off of me? Life has been challenging for so many people, including myself. I was taught to keep going no matter what, but during that time in my life I had been going for quite some time. I no longer desired to go any further.  I finally decided to stop and process what I was feeling and how it made me feel. I had to decide what was and wasn't working. I had to learn to pause and pace myself. Life doesn't always go as planned, the key is to accept it and embrace what you are feeling in the moment. I found myself asking Why so many times, but I kept reminding myself that all things are working for my good. While pausing for a break, I had a chance to catch up with Chanelle Monae. I was able to openly share my struggles and hear all about hers. This podcast is like a glass, I see you and you can see me. I like to be open and honest because it is exactly what we all need. Giving Up Is Never An Option

Giving Up Is Never An Option
Sometimes when I feel like I am doing all that I can and nothing happens, it can be exhausting. There were many times when I wanted to throw in the towel and say God this isn't for me. I've also questioned God many times to make sure I was on the right path. Sometimes, the outcome didn't look like what I expected, but for me giving up is never an option. I've learned to trust God and the process because all things will work for my good. Gillian Malone, is a licensed attorney who didn't allow her bumps in the road to keep her away from doing what she knew God chose her to do. Let's just say, she understood the assignment. She kept pressing through the pandemic and didn’t allow anything to stop her. Gillian didn’t have a traditional law school experience, she had to maneuver through difficult times and keep her eyes focused on the promise. Did you know that only 5% of lawyers are AA and only 2% of ALL lawyers are AA women? Think about it for a minute. I'm proud of Gillian she kept pushing to be a part of change. (We can...... do ANYTHING! ) When I read Gillian's testimony, I wanted to connect with her because during that time, I was increasing my faith believing that I would get through my bumps in the road. If I'm being honest, I had grown weary. I had become exhausted and I was losing hope. I believe that God will show us that we are not alone and hearing other's testimony will give us something to hold on to. Everyday, I'm realizing that we are not alone on our journey. We are surrounded by people. Good people. I'm so glad I reached out to Gillian to be my help during my storm. Her story uplifted me and I think you will find comfort while listening. To hear Gillian's testimony press play and join the conversation. Girl Get Off The Couch And Get Your Life Back

Girl Get Off The Couch And Get Your Life Back
Dr. Radisha is a best-selling author of Girl Get Off The Couch  and is known as America’s #1 Breakup Therapist. Dr. Radisha  shared her story about letting go of her marriage and what that process looked like.  She talked about being glued to the couch and eating fry chicken everyday for comfort.  How many of us can relate to this story?   Food does bring comfort. Everyone deals with break ups differently and I could relate to her pain. Instead of eating for comfort, I would bury myself in work until I buried the pain enough to move on.   Life has challenges and  we're going to face some ups and downs. There will be turbulence, but that doesn't mean we should give up. I came to a point in my life that I had to decide to face those challenges head on, no matter. That is exactly what Dr. Radisha did, once she put down the chicken.  Listen!!!! Sis  got off the couch and snatched her life back.  She knew in order for her to heal and move on, she had to do the work.  I have to be honest, Sis made me hungry.  Dr. Radisha dropped so many positive gems. Her new book Girl Get Off The Couch, created a a hunger in me to continue to press forward and go after my purpose. Radisha touched on some things that I had experienced and I thank God for counseling because I no longer felt the pain she spoke about anymore.  Listen I don't want to spoil this for you, but press play and join the conversation. You won't be disappointed. If you want to be a guest co-host and share your story email me at info@twindlellc.com and let's talk about it.
Showing Up With Confidence

Showing Up With Confidence
Can you show up for yourself even if you don't feel like you obtain the confidence to do what you're called to do? I want to show up in my life with confidence. Confidence knowing that I'm not perfect and it's absolutely ok. Confidence knowing that I'm on the right path and that I'm equipped for my assignment. Sometimes I feel like Moses, and if you know his story in the bible, Moses lacked confidence in himself, thinking he couldn't do what God called him to do. Moses didn't think he was that dude. Sometimes, when I make mistakes or an error I feel like I'm not called for my assignment, but God always reassures me that I'm that one. I'm exactly who He has chosen for the job and that He has confidence in me. Giovonna Geathers' and I  had time to chat and she dropped bombs on me.  Giovanna showed up with passion and confidence knowing that she understands her assignment, but it didn't start off that way. Giovanna shared that sometimes you may have an idea of where you think you are headed, but there may be a shift ahead of you and you have to be ready to take it. By moving in the direction that God had predestined for her she was able to accomplish so many things that she never imagined.  By following God's lead, Giovanna knows that greater things are ahead of her. While talking with Giovanna I learned that letting go of my fear- wait what fear..... Yes, I had to let go of something that I was holding on to. It was time for me to let go and let God.  I don't want to give you all of the details, so you have to listen for yourself to find out more press play. . If you want to be a guest co-host and share your story email me at info@twindlellc.com and let's talk about it.
For The Babies

For The Babies
It's always love when I see other women (especially black women) living their dreams and not afraid to expand their territory.  I did an interview a few years back with Kelley Williams the founder of Cursalve.  Kelley is mom that is not afraid to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. She is an attorney that advocates for kids in the system and for babies at home. A few years back when I first interviewed Kelley, I was so intrigued by her story on how she created an organic skin cream for diaper rash. When Kelley became a mom, her daughter was experiencing skin sensitivity so the usage of products with fragrances was not an option. That became an issue because there are not many organic products available, and she was not having luck finding the right cure. Kelley had tried many different reputable brands that has been around for over 30 years, but those brands only caused her daughters diaper rash to worsen. Like so many other mothers, Kelley shopped around looking for a safe product, with safe ingredients, that would give her daughter relief; but also give her peace of mind knowing she could trust what she was putting on her daughter was safe. After trying many different products that did not work, Kelley set out on a mission to educate herself on the ingredients that were placed in the off the shelf brands. She decided that she would not only do something to protect her baby, but babies around the globe. I don't want to spoil the interview, but Kelley has recently expanded her line and is creating so much more for our babies.  To hear Kelley's amazing story and where she is now press play. If you would like to find out more about how it all begin, check out this article I wrote on Kelley a few years ago with Sheen Magazine.  If you want to be a guest co-host and share your story email me at info@twindlellc.com and let's talk about it.  http://www.sheenmagazine.com/tag/kelley-williams/ Curasalve is now featured at Nordstrom.  To find out more about Curasalve and what’s to come next, follow Kelley Williams on Instagram @curasalve @kelleywilliams_ or check out www.curasalve.com
