Our Editor's Take

The Down The Rabbit Holes podcast wants to help solve missing person cases. Each year, over 600,000 people in the US go missing. The family and police often don't know if the person is dead or alive. While most people get found in a timely fashion, there are a number of people who are still missing. The goal of this podcast is to keep attention on these missing person cases.

Melissa Benitez and Amy Lamarre are the hosts of the Down The Rabbit Holes podcast. They met in college and connected over the O.J. Simpson case. But they continued talking about true crime afterward. This led to the origin of the podcast.

Each episode of Down the Rabbit Holes focuses on a single missing person's case. Amy and Melissa research each story and explain their opinions on the cases. They also explain the different theories around the case.

Stories come from across the country. For example, one episode reviews the case of Jennifer Marcum. In February 2003, she disappeared from Denver International Airport outside of Denver, Colorado. Marcum parked her car near the airport. No one ever saw her again.

Another case is Sunny Sramek. The 18-year-old woman left home on April 20, 2019. No one saw her after that. The hosts encourage listeners to call in tips to the local sheriff's department or the FBI.

The podcast is ideal for anyone who enjoys true crime stories. The hosts do complex research to come up with their opinions and theories. They report what is verifiable-and what is not. Melissa and Amy also review the important details of each case. Both hosts are respectful of the subject matter.

The podcast averages less than 30 minutes per episode and is available once a week. Like Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, fans can follow the white rabbit. Listeners join the hosts through internet rabbit holes to find the truth.
