In another episode, Brook discusses movies. It's a less serious topic that's still hard to be objective about. Brook says positive portrayals of business people in films are hard to find. He explores how The Departed and Coherence treated executives.
Brook explains why 2023 was a good cinematic year for businesses. He believes part of applying Rand's philosophy includes knowing one's abilities. Brook says few people have the qualifications to decide whether a movie is good or bad. He feels one must study acting, plots, scriptwriting, and cinematography to determine this.
The host believes moviegoers must separate their enjoyment of the film from its aesthetic value. This rule could apply to critiquing paintings, economics, symphonies, and more. The Yaron Brook Show might help listeners make those distinctions.
