A Review of 'The Janes:' Women Who Took A Stand For Women In Pre Roe v Wade America
On this week's episode of Kickin & Streamin Podcast, Graham & Jocelyn review the HBO Max documentary film The Janes. The film introduces the audience to a group of ordinary women who created a vast network of abortionists in Chicago during the late 60's and early 70's to provide safe and affordable illegal abortion to women in need. The documentary offers first-hand account by the women known as 'The Janes,' now in their late sixties and seventies, along with footage and interviews with law enforcement officers of the era. Graham & Jocelyn also had a discussion about the overturn of Roe v Wade ruling by the United States Supreme Court. Roe v Wade was a ruling by the same court in 1973 which guaranteed a woman's constitutional right to an abortion. Listen to this episode and feel free to tell us your opinion. Tokyo Vice: Best Underrated Series On HBO Max
On this week's episode of Kickin & Streamin Podcast, Graham & Jocelyn discuss HBO Max's drama series Tokyo Vice, based on the best selling book by American journalist Jake Adelstein. The series premiered on HBO Max on April 7, 2022 and it's the first American-produced series filmed entirely in Japan. It stars Ansel Elgort, Ken Watanabe, Rachel Keller, Rinko Kikuchi, Sho Kasamatsu, and Ella Rumpf. Before analyzing Tokyo Vice, Graham & Jocelyn discussed "What Did You Watch This Week?" segment. Jojo finished watching the documentary series 'The Way Down: God, Greed, and The Cult of Gwen Shamblin.' Graham watched a HBO standup comedy special titled Rothaniel, performed by comedian Jerrod Carmichael in which he comes out as gay to his audience.
