Our Editor's Take

The One Millionth Podcast hosts know that they are late to the industry. They understand that many people have done the bantering-duo format before them. Still, brother and sister Chris and Andi Porter feel like they have something new to offer in the field of podcasts. They believe their sibling dynamic is entertaining for listeners.

The siblings grew up in the same household in Kansas. Yet, the two have different life experiences. The elder, Chris, went to public school, while Andi attended Catholic school. They both went to the same college, but Chris got kicked out while Andi received her theater degree. There is also a seven-year gap between the two, so they have different perspectives on the world. These are evident through their discussions on the podcast.

The podcast hosts went into entertainment for their careers but in different areas. Chris is a touring stand-up comedian. He appeared on Last Comic Standing and The Arsenio Hall Show, among others. Chris also released two comedy specials, Comedy Central Presents "Chris Porter" and Netflix's Ugly and Angry. Andi took another route. She became a TV producer. Andi worked on The Soup, The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale, Nightly Pop, What The Fashion, and many more. While she is not a comedian by trade, she has a good sense of what makes people laugh.

Humor is the main thing that connects Chris and Andi on The One Millionth Podcast. From discussing how Chris can't cook to Andy's restroom issues with rompers, they always make each other chuckle. They spend the episodes reminiscing about their childhood or discussing pop culture news. In one episode, they give tips on how to commit crimes. In another, they reveal how often they change their underwear. There is no format or rationale for the topics. Chris and Andi bring up anything on their minds as long as they find it funny. Thanks to their effortless conversation style, it's a lighthearted and enjoyable listen.
