Steven Stayner was just 7 years old when he was abducted on December 4th, 1972. He spent the next 7 years living with a vile paedophile named Kenneth Parnell. Parnell, kept Steven for these years, moving around California, enrolling Steven into various schools under the name of Dennis Parnell.Parnell struggled to hold down a stable job, kept on the move and abusing Steven. He made several attempts with Steven to abduct other children, only to have them fail every time. Recruiting another person to abduct a child, Parnell abducted 5 year-old, Timothy White, in 1980.Steven, being determined to spare Timothy the same fate he had endured, escaped with him in the middle of the night. Tsutomu Yamaguchi, is the luckiest unlucky survivor you’ll hear about. At age 27, in 1945 Mr. Yamaguchi and his colleagues were sent from Nagasaki to Hiroshima for an extended work trip. On the day, before they were due to return the “Little Boy” nuclear bomb was dropped on Hiroshima.Mr. Yamaguchi was late for work when the bomb was dropped, and woke up to see a crown of fire and mushroom cloud soar into the skies. His skin was red, raw, burning and he had a ringing in his ears like he had never experienced before. After finding his colleagues they made their way to the station to catch an evacuation train back to Nagasaki.After the gruelling journey back, Mr. Yamaguchi showed up for work Monday morning to explain what had happened. Whilst explaining what had happened to his co-workers, there was a flash and Mr. Yamaguchi was knocked unconscious. When he finally came around, it was more carnage. Once again he woke up to a mushroom cloud and the city on fire. It was the 2nd nuclear bomb.He kept his experience hidden and unspoken about until the age of 90.
