God's Not Dead (w/Troy Carruthers)

God's Not Dead (w/Troy Carruthers)
Look, I usually try to put a funny little summary here but this movie is vile and hateful and not good for Christians or Atheists or really anyone who doesn’t have a black heart. The guys are joined by former pastor Troy Carruthers to get into some of the more intricate aspects of religion (especially the danger of “narrative”) and why this movie is harmful to everyone. Don’t worry, they still had fun discussing this nutty movie. They also discuss Kevin Sorbo’s come-to-Jesus moment, the Newsboys, evil Liberals and their woke agenda, the premise that would never happen in a million billion years and more. Plus: Troy’s Top 10 list directed at Brendan. Next week: Rock it! What We've Been Watching: Notes on a Scandal Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Nimona Questions? Comments? Suggestions? The Son (w/Gabe Elder-Gomes)

The Son (w/Gabe Elder-Gomes)
The Worst of 2023 rolls forward with a breakdown of Oscar-winning writer/director Florian Zeller's followup to The Father... The Son. He went from winning an Oscar for Best Screenplay to... THIS!? Gabe Elder-Gomes joins the guys to break this baffling representation of mental illness from... someone else's perspective? What is happening? They discuss the gameshow environment and a very unprofessional doctor, the jarring tone shift in the dance sequence, Anthony Hopkins' fantastic performance in a 5-minute scene, comparisons to Sia's Music and much, much more. Apologies for the dodgy (but totally listenable) audio at times - we were having what we call in the business....errr.... technical... times. Next week: we cap off our "Recently Regrettable" series with another horror "treat." What We've Been Watching: "BEEF" "Spider-Man 2" (videogame) "The Curse" Questions? Comments? Suggestions?
