Mindfully Being Well with Brittney Fehr
Brittney is a clinical counselor, a certified meditation guide, and a registered yoga teacher. Meditation, Yoga (Philosophy and Asanas), cognitive psychology, neurobiology, and counseling have been the tools that have helped her to befriend her suffering and sometimes heal from it.  Her connection to meditation and Yoga began to deepen about 10 years ago in an attempt to heal from workplace burnout and maladaptive coping strategies. For the last 4 years, she has been sharing the physical practice of Yoga and meditation with folks from all walks of life through her online community Mindfully Being Well, as a corporate wellness facilitator, and as a trauma-informed Yoga teacher trainer at Yoga Outreach. Now, as a trauma-informed clinical counselor, she works collaboratively with clients utilizing mind-body connection and relationship to support full body, heart, and mind healing and integration.  In the context of mindfulness, mediation, and Yoga, Brittney feels that it is important to locate herself within a sociocultural context to acknowledge that these sacred philosophies and practices are not part of her ethnic or cultural heritage. Brittney is originally from a rural community in the interior of what is colonially known as British Columbia. Her father's family came to Turtle Island from what was then Prussia at the end of the 1700s. They were Mennonite pacifists and were fleeing religious persecution and military inscription. Her mother's parents are of Irish, Scottish, German, British, and Cowichan descent. She was the first in her immediate family to graduate high school, university.  Brittney’s understanding, practice, and teaching of mindfulness, meditation and Yoga are earnest and with deep gratitude for her teachers' teachers.  You can join the Mindfully Being Well community and monthly virtual community meditations from the website or on Instagram @mindfully_being_well  or Facebook: Mindfully Being Well. I fight differently with Sika Valme
The audio-visual universe of contemporary Creole-Canadian music producer and creative director Sika Valmé, is an expertly crafted collection of timeless, relatable narratives.  Born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Sika now resides between Montréal, New York, and Mexico. Her creations, reflections of her many migrations, find inspiration in geometry, the natural world, and the human experience.  Sika’s work is an immersive encounter, one that synergizes opposing elements to create a distinct style with an unforgettable sound. Dubbed as “Creole-LoFi”, the rich and layered textures of her music offer an unconventional take on Caribbean rhythms.
