Our Editor's Take

Mind Set Win is a podcast that sees elite-level athletes share the stories behind critical career moments. Competitive athletes must have a winning mindset to succeed in their field. But is that something that they are born with, or something that they have developed over the years?

One of the best things about Mind Set Win is its two hosts and how they can contextualize information. Cédric Dumont is an accomplished high-performance psychologist. He has been practicing for several decades. He is also a well-known base jumper and was the first person in the world to jump from the Mala Rijeka Viaduct.

Kate Courtney has been racing mountain bikes and competing in extreme sports since she was 14. She has won several women's mountain biking titles and continues to set records. Together, the podcast's two hosts offer much insight into a growth mindset.

Mind Set Win also has many well-known athletes sit down with the hosts to share their stories. These include notable athletes like pilot Dario Costa and skier Lindsey Vonn. These athletes share things about both their failures and their successes. These allow for a podcast that feels insightful. Listeners are not only getting to know these athletes on a deeper level. They are also getting to learn about their growth mindset as well.

This podcast is not about how to "guarantee to be a winner" in whatever goal a listener might be setting out. It focuses on the idea of overcoming adversity. The hosts believe one can have a growth mindset by learning to manage failure. New episodes of Mind Set Win premiere on Wednesday of each week.
