An avid cultural critic, TaLynn has published numerous essays on her intersectional identity as a fat, Black, femme geek. Prior to the pandemic, TaLynn conducted educational panels at conventions throughout the U.S. and co-created Black Girl Geek Out with Kecia Stovall, an event centering Black women and non-binary creatives in the Atlanta area.In addition to writing and cosplaying, TaLynn published two essay books, Breaking Normal: Essays about My Fat, Black, Geek Life and Still Breaking Normal: A Fat, Black, Femme, Geek Navigating an Anti-Black World, available on Amazon. She co-hosts the podcast New Wakanda with comic creator Dedren Snead and has written her first graphic short story for the Kamikaze comic anthology, Short Circuits that will come out later in 2021.
