Persistence in Prayer with Kylie Hein

Kylie Hein

Raise your hand if you've ever...

Felt like  God was near, but couldn't figure out what he was asking you to do.

Questioned  why if you're doing God's will, your vocation seems SO stinking hard.

Dropped everything to help out a coworker, only to come home paralyzed by decision fatigue because you didn't touch your own to-do list.

My friend, you are in good company! If you are a fellow book buying, course-taking, love to do all-of-the-things while often getting stuck in a state of overwhelm kind of Catholic (or Christian), this is the place for you!

Welcome to the Persistence in Prayer podcast, hosted by Catholic Mindset Coach, wife, mother, educator, and speaker, Kylie Hein.  This podcast is where Christian women learn to create space from their circumstances and obligations, so that they can show up mentally present with those that need them most. We explore the beauty and simplicity of life that comes as a result of persistence in prayer, as well as all of the daily trials that come with living a life rooted in Christ.

If you're in a valley and need a friend, we're here. If you're on a peak and ready to shout out your wins to the world, we're here for that too!

Here, you will learn to cultivate a deeper sense of trust in God's plan for your life so that you have clarity in His calling and the courage to go wherever he leads. If you long to give God a more prominent place in your life, but you aren't sure where to begin, stick around. Being a high achiever and having a deep, meaningful prayer life are not mutually exclusive. You don't have to sacrifice your one-on-one time with God to meet the demands of your job, your family, or your schedule. You have a choice. Your fresh start to freedom may be just one episode away.

#54 Chronic People Pleasing With Denise Jelinek

#54 Chronic People Pleasing With Denise Jelinek
This episode was made with love and prayer for all of my dear chronic people pleasers and over-doers in mind! Do you find yourself saying “yes” before it’s even hit your system what you’ve agreed to do? Sometimes, we say yes out of obligation, sometimes because we don’t want to feel the discomfort of refusing someone, and sometimes, we are simply so used to pleasing others, that we do not consult the Lord or the desires of our own heart. At the root of people pleasing, is often the sin of pride. We feel like we are not enough and we fall into self-reliance trying to be more. We strive to prove that we are indeed, enough. In this episode I am joined by Denise Jelinek of the Weightless With The Holy Spirit podcast. Denise describes how high-achieving women just like yourself, go for the dopamine hit of being recognized before your ambition, long before you’ve considered whether or not you will find yourself overextended and exhausted.Denise shares 3 quick tips that you will want to start implementing today! When you’re asked to do something, respond with, “I’ll get back to you.”Pay attention to what you need, and make sure that you get it! Yes, that means recognizing when you need to pee and not waiting 3 hours to go.Give yourself a luxurious amount of time when creating and responding to deadlines. If you are a high-achieving Catholic woman who forgets to take care of your needs first, this episode is for you. If you are a personal-development junkie, this episode is for you. If you let everyone else’s needs suppress you going after your own dreams, this episode is for you. Be A Difference Maker! Episode 46: How To Not Lose Yourself In The Sufferings Of Lent
Feb 27 2024
Episode 46: How To Not Lose Yourself In The Sufferings Of Lent
In this episode, Kylie delves into the profound question of why we suffer, taking us back to the beginnings of creation. She highlights the original harmony between body and soul, emphasizing that God's plan for us was holiness and eternal life, not suffering.Kylie explores the impact of original sin on our nature, leading to the experience of suffering and death. Despite this deviation from God's original plan, Kylie offers insights on how to navigate and find meaning in our suffering. The podcast provides three key points to help us endure and grow through suffering:Embrace Suffering for the Good of Others:St. Catherine of Sienna's wisdom is shared, emphasizing that everything comes from love and is ordained for the salvation of humanity.Kylie draws inspiration from St. Thomas More's powerful statement on accepting God's will, even in the face of challenges.A reflection on Lent and how we are tempted to choose the easy way out is explored.Don't Ask for Extra Crosses:Don't seek additional burdens, as life naturally brings enough challenges.Trust in God's Plan:Drawing from "The Chosen," Kylie reminds us that God allows us to hunger but never to starve. Trusting in God's plan, even in the midst of sin, sorrow, and struggle, is crucial. Suffering is a revelation of our weaknesses and attachments, and we must trust in God's transformative process.Suffering is NEVER Wasted by God:Suffering, when understood in the context of our creation as beings of God's hand, becomes meaningful and purposeful.A powerful real-life example is shared, featuring Jessica Hanna.Kylie concludes with the profound idea that our human suffering is an opportunity to participate in redemption. Each person's cross is unique, and the response to suffering shapes our personal vocation with God. The episode ends with a reminder of hope and the transformative power of renewing our minds.Be sure to stay tuned for new episodes every Tuesday!
