In July 2014, German tourist Lars Mittank vanished without a trace during a vacation in Varna, Bulgaria. After a bar scuffle left him with a ruptured eardrum, Lars exhibited paranoid behavior, fearing he was being followed. After arriving to check in for his flight home, Lars was caught on airport CCTV sprinting out of the airport into a nearby forest. In the early morning hours of March 18, 1990, a car pulled up near the side entrance of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. Two men dressed in police uniforms pushed the Museum intercom buzzer and stated that they were responding to a disturbance. The guard on duty broke protocol and allowed the two men into the Museum. After this, the largest property crime in US history unfolded as more than $500 million work of art was stolen.
