Our Editor's Take

The story of how Deja, Lee, and Monica started the All or Nothing Pod: A Married at First Sight Podcast is quite funny. The three were all members of a Facebook group that discussed The Bachelor. One night, after an episode of Married At First Sight, someone posted about one of the couples. Lee, who at that point was pretty tipsy, responded that she would do a podcast about this. The other two responded, and when Lee sobered up, she had no choice but to follow through.

The three are all avid reality TV watchers. Monica admits that she's been watching soap operas since elementary school. This makes her an expert in TV tropes, and she loves to see how reality TV tries to recreate them. Deja watches Married at First Sight with her husband, but he's tired of hearing her commentary about it. Lee has been watching it since season one. They all agree that anyone on TV knows the viewers are judging them. And it's the trio's role to be the judges with the recap podcast.

The American Married at First Sight has been around since 2014. Its premise is somewhat like shows like 90-Day Fiance and Love Is Blind. The couples are strangers when they wed in the first episode. Then they have six weeks to go on a honeymoon, move in together, and combine their lives to try and make it work.

Each season follows three couples, and each podcast host adopts one. They follow the couple's journey from the first time they see each other until decision day. At times, they even attempt to be compassionate and caring. At others, they are poignant and hold nothing back. They are here to tell the listener exactly how they feel. No sentiment is too much for the podcast, especially during the reunion recaps.
