Organization is one of those things that is the foundation for so many OTHER things. If your digital space is disorganized, you can’t find what you need when you need it.If your tasks are disorganized, you don’t know what you’re supposed to be working on, or even IF there’s something to be working on.If your time is disorganized, you miss deadlines and due dates, and you feel stressed out and overwhelmed. In this week’s episode of the Learn and Work Smarter podcast, I talk about the 3 most important areas to organize. 07. How to Learn Things
Learning things is a lifelong activity. It’s not something that stops happening once we graduate. Students and working professionals will always be faced with the challenge of learning new things, and … wait for it … there’s an actual WAY to learn. (I know! If only they taught this in school!)This week’s episode is all about HOW to learn. The learning process — the actual steps our brains take to acquire information — takes a certain amount of time that we don’t have much control over. The problem is that many people try to hack this process with pseudo-science “strategies” that do not work. They don’t work because they don’t respect the fact that learning is a real biochemical and neurological process that has a few of its own terms. In this episode, I teach you the real strategies for how to learn things.Free Study Planner Template → simple pdf download that helps you implement the strategies you learn in the episode. 💻PODCAST EPISODE WEBSITE Got your own burning question you'd like me to answer on a future episode? I’m definitely not in management but I’m not entry level anymore either. I have 2 people who report to me, and I’m on a team with 5 others. I work from home 2-3 days a week and go into the office 2-3 days a week. My problem is that I’m constantly interrupted all day long, whether I’m working at home or at the office.I like the people I work with and don’t want to make a bad impression, but how can I tell people I’m busy or can’t talk? When I’m constantly interrupted I get so unfocused and it’s hard to focus again. Thank you.QUESTION 2: I’m graduating from college in May and starting to look for jobs now so I can have a job after graduation. I’m a business major with a minor in psychology. Besides finishing strong, updating my resume, and actually applying to jobs, what do you suggest I do between now and graduation that will help me once I have a job? Like what skills are good to have, besides the ones I learned in school?🙋🏽‍♀️SUBMIT QUESTIONS FOR A FUTURE EPISODE 💻PODCAST EPISODE WEBSITE Got your own burning question you'd like me to answer on a future episode?
