Our Editor's Take

Over the last several years, there has been an increase in interest surrounding UFOs. Even the US government made public statements addressing some of these unexplainable events. High Strange is a podcast that attempts to explore these phenomena further.

The host and creator of High Strange is Payne Lindsey. He began his career in Georgia, directing music videos and small television commercials. In 2015, he began to take an interest in podcasting after seeing the documentary series Making a Murderer. Realizing that he did not have funding for that kind of project, he started the podcast Up and Vanished. The podcast helped to solve the murder of a local teacher and led Lindsey to create other podcasts.

High Strange allows Lindsey to explore his long-held interest in UFOs. Beginning in 2020, the conversation around UFOs reentered the public forum. An increase in sightings and people having more free time then led to more news stories.

The US government even had a press conference about the topic. For the first time in decades, they issued a public statement on these aerial objects. In a stunning series of events, the government admitted to not knowing their origin.

High Strange wants to continue this conversation on a new platform. Each week, Lindsey interviews people who have witnessed these paranormal events. Listeners may already be familiar with some of these stories, such as Roswell.

However, High Strange is more interested in showcasing lesser-known stories. These include episodes about Travis Walton and an incident at Rendlesham Forest. Lindsey offers witnesses a platform to tell their stories of less publicized events. New episodes premiere every Thursday.
