IELTS Writing Task 2 | How to score 8+ in IELTS Writing Task 2
The government's investment in arts, music and theatre is a waste of money. Governments should invest these funds in public services instead. To what extent do you agree with this statement? Band 9 Model Answer: INTRODUCTION Latelly, many discussions have risen whether funding for the arts in a proper use or it is better focusing on public concerns like healthcare, education, etc. It cannot be said that heath and health related services, which are most of the essential services in the country are not important, however, my perspective and the way I view the overall picture depicts the idea that the significance of the arts in nation’s ever lasting investment. BODY PARAGRAPH 1 First, support for the arts is far-reaching culturally and educationally. Artistic expression in the form of music, theatre etc. is a representation of a country and allows creativity to flourish. In other countries with less private sponsorship, many artistic institutions would not survive without government support. Furthermore, access to the arts can substantially enhance citizens' lives by promoting critical thinking, empathy and emotional intelligence; all necessary for a functioning society. Plenty of research shows that theatres perform social commentary, to which audiences attend with a reflective eye. BODY PARAGRAPH 2 First of all, there is cultural and pedagogical value to investing in the arts. Music, theatre and all that animates one’s art help to keep one’s country alive and make one innovative. And most art institutions would not be able to survive without government funding, especially in places where private sponsorship is scarce. And arts exposure can add a great deal to citizens’ lives by training them in critical thinking, empathy and emotional intelligence, which are foundational to any balanced society. Theatre performances, for example, can also be social vignettes, in which audiences examine issues of the day.BODY PARAGRAPH 3And also, the arts are economic contributors to a nation. Particularly cultural tourism provides a lot of money to the economies. Even cities like Paris or New York with thriving arts scene, receive millions of tourists each year. Governments by investing in arts and culture not only contribute to a country’s culture, they also employ people and expand tourism. So the monetary return on investments in the arts can be higher than the initial investment.BODY PARAGRAPH 4 In contrast, I concede public goods such as health care and education. But neglecting the arts in favour of these industries would be a disequilibrium of society. It is incumbent upon governments to create a halving budget in which public services and the arts are adequately funded. If ours is a culture where we only care about survival with medicine and education, and not about our culture, it can be doomed to boredom. CONCLUSION To sum it up, public services are vital, but it is also not a wasted use of government money in my opinion to promote the arts. Since both the sectors are vital for a society to develop as a whole, they should reflect it in their spending; so that the citizens can grow by contributing to both of them. _______________________________ 🔔 Facebook: / https://www.facebook.com/Polyglotworks/ 🔔Instagram: / https://www.instagram.com/polyglotworks/ 🔔 Twitter: / https://x.com/POLYGLOTWORKS/ 🔔Tiktok: / https://www.tiktok.com/@polyglot_works/ 🔔All Links: / https://polyglotworks.carrd.co/ 🔔WhatsApp: / https://wa.me/77075439065 🔔 Website: / https://www.polyglotworks.net/book-online  @POLYGLOTWORKS  _______________________________

IELTS Writing Task 2 | How to score 8+ in IELTS Writing Task 2
These days it is much easier for many people to travel to different countries for tourism than in the past. Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages? Band 8 Model Answer: INTRODUCTION Unlike previous decades where international travel specifically for leisure has been more difficult and/or rare, today globalisation means international movement is a far greater possibility. This has led to an intense discussion about whether the advantages of such a large development outweigh its disadvantages. This essay will argue that the benefits of having more opportunities to travel are much greater than its drawbacks because not only do such activities lead to economic gain, but they also allow countries to exchange culture; where as many believe it has harmful effects on environment and leads to over tourism.BODY PARAGRAPH 1The first reason is that affordable travel options have transformed economies around the world. Tourism is a key industry that generates GDP for many countries, especially those with an economic status of this category. For instance, nations such as Thailand and Spain earn a fortune economically from international visitors where it serves as a job generator and firms prosper. Additionally, more tourism generates infrastructure development such as transportation and hospitality service improvements. That said, this factor speaks to the role that affordable travel plays in benefiting local economies but also a wider world economy through international exchange and tradeBODY PARAGRAPH 2On the hand some people believe that the increase, in tourism is damaging to the environment and dilutes cultures. The impact of large scale tourism activities can be concerning, with problems such as pollution, destruction of habitats and higher levels of carbon emissions being observed. Moreover excessive tourism can put a strain on amenities create a sense of alienation, among residents and diminish the authenticity of encounters. Nevertheless these challenges may be alleviated by promoting tourism approaches and encouraging travel behaviors. Governments and groups are more and more promoting travel choices and putting rules in place to safeguard delicate ecosystems—showing that taking proactive steps can help counteract the harmful impacts of rising tourism levels. CONCLUSION To conclude, only through being aware of the negative factors that may arise as a result of easier global travel, it can be created a shift of focus away from bland commodified holidays, but overall the mass movement available to people through tourism serves an invaluable resource in economic benefit and cultural exchange. Through sustainable travel and improved behaviors, communities can better cope with the benefits and challenges of recent history. Thus, we can say that the advantages of improved international movement on tourism far exceed its disadvantages. _______________________________ 🔔 Facebook: / https://www.facebook.com/Polyglotworks/ 🔔Instagram: / https://www.instagram.com/polyglotworks/ 🔔 Twitter: / https://x.com/POLYGLOTWORKS/ 🔔Tiktok: / https://www.tiktok.com/@polyglot_works/ 🔔All Links: / https://polyglotworks.carrd.co/ 🔔WhatsApp: / https://wa.me/77075439065 🔔 Website: / https://www.polyglotworks.net/book-online  @POLYGLOTWORKS  _______________________________

In many countries nowadays, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world. Do you think this is a positive or negative development? BAND 8+ MODEL ANSWER: In contemporary society, the prevalence of food products originating from different parts of the globe in supermarkets has become increasingly common. This issue has presented a double-edged sword for public discussion. Some say that the availed food products help promote diversification and availability. On the contrary, I strongly believe that the consequences far outweigh the advantages. The most significant benefit worldwide food imports can confer on consumers is that they greatly increase their available options. Today, shoppers can choose from among numerous fruits, vegetables, and other foodstuffs that once, nothing could be ventured ever to be had outside their native countries. For example, supermarkets in temperate regions feature products like mangos and pineapples, foods normally native only to tropical climates. Trade in food imports certainly promotes cultural exchange; people can incorporate foreign foods into daily life, fostering a more inclusive society. Plus, a diverse supply source may introduce price competition, which can lead to lower prices and better quality goods for consumers, therefore enhancing their overall shopping experience. Notwithstanding the benefits of the system, the global sourcing of food brings many problems to the fore. For starters, there is an environmental question. Food must be flown, trucked, or shipped to faraway places. This presents a significant contribution to climate change. For example, goods imported from countries like Peru or New Zealand require airplanes or shipping vessels, engendering greater greenhouse gas emissions. Aside from that, this global system may constrain local agriculture. Small farmers are unable to compete with lower-priced imported items. And this will lower local economies alongside the losses in traditional farming practices. To summarize my thoughts on the matter; even though having access, to a range of food options, from parts of the world can broaden consumer preferences and celebrate various cultures; it's crucial to acknowledge the significant downsides it brings along with it too. Like the environmental impact of shipping food long distances and the harm caused to local economies by importing goods extensively. In my opinion I think that this trend isn't all positive; therefore we need to adopt a way of sourcing our food in order to mitigate these negative consequences effectively. _______________________________ 🔔 Facebook: / https://www.facebook.com/Polyglotworks/ 🔔Instagram: / https://www.instagram.com/polyglotworks/ 🔔 Twitter: / https://x.com/POLYGLOTWORKS/ 🔔Tiktok: / https://www.tiktok.com/@polyglot_works/ 🔔All Links: / https://polyglotworks.carrd.co/ 🔔WhatsApp: / https://wa.me/77075439065 🔔 Website: / https://www.polyglotworks.net/book-online  @POLYGLOTWORKS  _______________________________

Adjectives and adverbs - Прилагательные и наречия в английском языке - в чем разница? A1 to Advance
📚✨ Прилагательные и наречия в английском языке! ✨📚 Прилагательные и наречия – это важные части речи, которые помогают делать вашу речь более точной и выразительной! 🌟 📌 Прилагательные (Adjectives) описывают существительные и местоимения: 💬 “She is a brilliant student.” She is a quick learner. 📖✨ (прилагательное quick описывает существительное learner) 2️⃣ Adverbs (наречия) описывают глаголы, прилагательные или другие наречия: She learns quickly. 🏃‍♀️📚 (наречие quickly описывает глагол learns) ❗️ Важно: Adjectives – описывают что-то или кого-то (какой?) A few of you have asked me for this video, so here it is! Let's look at the GRAMMAR, USAGE and PRONUNCIATION. I hope you enjoy it and find it helpful. Conditionals, an important part of English grammar that every learner should master, especially if you’re studying ELT, ESL, or ELL. Whether you're learning English as a second language or you're a teacher looking to explain conditionals more clearly, this video will break things down for you. Conditionals, or the conditional mood, allow us to talk about possible situations and their outcomes. They are commonly used in both speaking and writing, helping us express hypothetical situations or events that depend on certain conditions. There are different types of conditionals, and today we'll focus on the first conditional, which is used for real and possible situations in the future. You’ve probably seen the structure before: If + present simple, will + base verb. For example: If it rains, we will cancel the picnic. If you study, you will pass the exam. This is the 1st conditional, and it’s super useful in everyday conversations. In American and English culture, you’ll often hear people using it to talk about their plans, schedules, or predictions. Let’s not forget the zero conditional, second conditional, and third conditional, which all have different uses in the English language. These can be a bit more challenging, but don't worry, we’ll cover those in upcoming lessons! Remember, understanding conditionals will help you speak, write, and even read English more fluently. It’s essential if you want to sound more like a native speaker. 🌈 WANT TO TRY IT? Join today for only $8! There are several steps you can take to improve your English fluency: Immerse yourself in the language: Watch English-language movies, television shows, and videos; listen to English-language music and podcasts; and read English-language books, articles, and news.Practice speaking: Find a conversation partner, join a conversation group, or take an English class to practice speaking and improve your pronunciation.Learn English grammar and vocabulary: Study English grammar and vocabulary regularly, and practice using new words and grammar structures in your speaking and writing.Learn to listen: Practice listening to native English speakers and try to understand the words and sentences they use.Have patience: Remember that learning a new language takes time and practice, so be patient with yourself and don't get discouraged if you make mistakes. It's also important to note that fluency is not always a binary state, it's a gradual process, and you can improve your fluency through regular practice and exposure to the language. Coherence refers to the quality of being logically and functionally connected, consistent, and orderly. In terms of language, coherence refers to the connection and flow of ideas in a piece of writing or speech. A coherent text or speech is one in which the ideas are clearly presented and are logically connected to each other. It means that the sentences and paragraphs within a text or speech are related to each other, and they work together to convey a clear and consistent message. A cohesive text is one where the sentences are connected by the use of appropriate linking words, pronouns, and other grammatical devices. In summary, coherence is the quality of being clear, consistent, and logical in thought, ideas or expression. It is the ability of the listener or reader to understand the message being conveyed and to follow the progression of ideas. There are several things you can do to become a good speaker: Practice: The more you speak, the more comfortable and confident you will become. This can be done through conversation with native speakers, giving presentations, or joining a public speaking group.Prepare your material: Make sure you understand the topic or material you will be speaking about and organize your thoughts in a logical and clear manner.Speak clearly and enunciate: Speak at a moderate pace, and clearly enunciate your words to make it easier for your audience to understand you.Use body language: Use appropriate gestures and facial expressions to emphasize your points and to help engage your audience.Practice active listening: Listen to other speakers and pay attention to their techniques, and then try to incorporate those techniques into your own speaking.Be yourself: Speak in your own unique voice, and don't try to copy the speaking styles of others.Be engaged with the audience: Engage with the audience and make them feel comfortable, try to be interactive, ask questions and wait for the answers.Be open to feedback: Listen to feedback from others and use it to improve your speaking skills. Remember that being a good speaker also means being able to connect with the audience and adapt to the audience's needs and interests. It's also important to note that becoming a good speaker takes time and practice. It's a process that requires a continuous effort and self-evaluation.

Speaking logically means organizing your thoughts and ideas in a clear and coherent manner, and presenting them in a way that is easy for your audience to understand. Here are some tips to help you speak logically: Plan your thoughts: Before you start speaking, take a moment to organize your thoughts and ideas. Make an outline of the main points you want to cover, and the order in which you want to present them.Use clear and simple language: Avoid using complex vocabulary or jargon that your audience may not understand. Instead, use clear and simple language that is easy to follow.Use evidence and examples: Use evidence and examples to support your points and make them more convincing.Be concise: Be brief and to the point, avoid unnecessary detail and rambling.Use transitions: Use words and phrases that help to connect your ideas and create a smooth flow of thought.Use signposting: Signposting means using language to indicate the structure of your talk or the progression of ideas, for example: "First, I will discuss..., Next, I will talk about..., Finally, I will conclude with..."Use rhetorical questions: Rhetorical questions can be a powerful tool for engaging your audience and encouraging them to think about your ideas.Be logical: Follow a clear and logical sequence in your arguments and be consistent throughout your speech.Be flexible: Be open to feedback, and be prepared to adjust your ideas or approach if necessary. It's important to note that speaking logically also means adapting your language to your audience and the context, and being able to understand their perspective. There are several factors that can affect one's ability to speak well. Some of these include: Language proficiency: A speaker's level of proficiency in a language can greatly impact their ability to speak well. This includes knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, and idiomatic expressions.Self-confidence: A speaker's level of self-confidence can greatly impact their ability to speak well. A speaker who is confident in their abilities is more likely to speak clearly and fluently, while a speaker who is uncertain of themselves may hesitate, stumble over their words, or become easily flustered.Preparation: A speaker's level of preparation can greatly impact their ability to speak well. A well-prepared speaker will have a clear understanding of their topic, a well-organized outline, and will have practiced their delivery.Audience: The audience plays a crucial role in how well a speaker speaks. The audience's level of understanding, interest and attention can affect the speaker's ability to communicate effectively.Environment: The environment in which the speaker is speaking can also affect how well they speak. Factors such as noise level, lighting, and room layout can all impact a speaker's ability to communicate effectively.Language context: The context in which the speaker is communicating can affect how well they speak. For example, a formal business presentation may require a different speaking style than a casual conversation with friends.Nonverbal communication: Nonverbal cues such as facial expressions, gestures, and tone of voice can also affect how well a speaker communicates.Emotion: Emotions can also have an impact on how well a speaker communicates. For example, a speaker who is anxious or stressed may find it difficult to speak clearly and fluently. It's important to note that speaking well is a combination of many factors and it requires continuous practice and self-evaluation.

🎓 In this video, I take you through a comprehensive review of an IELTS Academic Writing Task 1 essay written by one of my students. This essay initially stands at a Band 5.5 level, and I’ll be analyzing it thoroughly to identify the key areas where improvements are needed. From grammar and vocabulary to structure and clarity, I break down each mistake and explain how it impacts the overall score. 📝 After addressing the weaknesses and making the necessary corrections, I present a revised version of the essay. This is where you’ll see how small changes can significantly raise the band score. To give you a clearer understanding, I also share a Band 9 example essay, demonstrating the critical differences between a mid-band score and a top-tier response. ✨ Throughout the video, you'll learn important tips and strategies to enhance your own IELTS Writing skills. Whether you're struggling with data interpretation, grammatical accuracy, or using complex sentence structures, this video will provide you with actionable insights to help you achieve a higher band score. 💡 By the end of this video, you'll be better equipped to avoid common pitfalls, improve your coherence and cohesion, and understand what examiners are looking for in a high-scoring essay. 🚀 Perfect for IELTS candidates who want to sharpen their writing skills and work towards their dream Band 7, 8, or even 9! 🌟 #IELTSWriting #AcademicWritingTask1 #IELTSPreparation #Band9Writing #ImproveYourIELTSScore #IELTSStudyTips #WritingTask1Examples #IELTSCorrections #IELTSBandScore #IELTSTestPreparation __________________ First, when you describe data, pay attention to sentence structure and clarity. For example, instead of saying: "As we see in this diagram, local fixed-line was the most used by 1995-1999," it’s better to say: "The diagram shows that the local fixed-line was the most used between 1995 and 1999." This version is clearer and avoids unnecessary phrasing like “as we see”. Next, remember to use the correct tenses. Instead of saying: "According this we can see slightly decreasing up to finish the bar chart," it should be: "According to the chart, we can see a slight decrease by the end of the period." This makes the sentence grammatically correct and smoother. Another mistake is in comparing data. Instead of saying: "This line was not as nearly as local-fixed line," you should say: "This line did not increase as much as the local fixed-line." This version is easier to understand. Also, be cautious with phrases like “a little bit lowering”. Instead, say: "a slight decrease at the end of the year." It’s more formal and appropriate for reports. --------- 🌈 WANT TO TRY IT? One of the most common tenses used to express future events is the simple future tense. This tense is formed by using the auxiliary verb "will" with the base form of the main verb.
