Dan Carlson is age 62, married with 4 children. One son, 30, and three daughters 28-21, a two year old grandson and a fifteen month old granddaughter.  Dan is an HVACR technician in Tucson Arizona, and gave his life to Jesus at age six.  Dan's childhood, although very normal appearing, was full of trauma and there was also sexual abuse, wounds that he carried most of his life before Jesus set him on a path of healing.  This is among the very first times that he's spoken about his life publicly in this way, but in the last two years, he's come to a place where he feels transparency and sharing is a way for him and others to heal, so he's not hiding anymore. Craig Heiting is a survivor or childhood sexual abuse and an experienced media executive, leading two start-up companies to successful events (one being purchased and one IPO). Along with his daughter, Craig wrote a stage play, "Guilt", about the implications of keeping one's abuse hidden from their loved ones and themselves. Rocky Pisor worked through his own story of healing from Boyhood Sexual Abuse and sex addiction.  He began recovery in 2004, and his wife, Lila, also began spouse's support simultaneously. They were actively involved in church leadership and had two college-age kids.  Rocky was running a family business, and Lila was working a career.  After two and a half years of recovery work, they both continued at the recovery ministry as volunteer group leaders and mentors. Our 5th LIVE interview. This week we have “Ed K” as our guests. Ed K is a native of the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. He talks about his years of growing up, becoming a husband and father, and moving through to his middle age years knowing something was wrong. In spite of having a wonderful life, great kids, a strong faith, and a late bloomer in reaching a successful career, he was being pulled into unwanted behaviors by an evil force. For most of his childhood and adult years he was easily manipulated, unable to say no to almost everything, afraid to make himself visible and share his talents, and be his true self. This week, I look back: Thirteen years ago (11/5/2010 & 11/12/2010), a monumental event forever changed the narrative for male survivors of sexual trauma. Oprah Winfrey's "200 Men Come Forward" television event marked a historic milestone in broadcast history by bringing together 200 brave male survivors and their partners in a courageous and empowering display of solidarity. This unprecedented event was more than a mere broadcast; it was a watershed moment of hope and empowerment for countless survivors worldwide. The impact of those episodes continue to reverberate; igniting conversations, shattering stigmas, and providing a platform for the silenced voices of male survivors to be heard and acknowledged.
