The Aircheck: Radio Stories podcast provides an open seat for listeners. DeSisto and Kelly have a gift for asking the right questions to get a genuine response. It's all part of the conversation between the hosts and their guests.
Interview subjects range from voices that listeners will recognize in an instant to those who worked behind big shows. Featured guests include television hosts, radio personalities, producers, executives, music historians, and more. The diverse lineup can appeal to listeners across generations. Each Aircheck: Radio Stories guest offers a unique perspective and expertise. They share stories about their career and the people who helped them along the way. This podcast is a great mix of remembering the good old days and looking forward to what lies ahead.
For example, DeSisto and Kelly interviewed radio DJ Jimmy Fink about his career. Fink is a voice New York rock radio fans have loved since the early 1970s. He still hosts a daily drive-time show. Fink had great stories about his time on FM radio, including being on the air during Live Aid. He also interviewed Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant several times. The singer told Fink how his love of history inspired the "hammer of the gods" lyric. Then that line inspired many fans' tattoos. Aircheck replayed this amusing snippet. Fink had so many great stories that the podcast devoted four episodes to them.
DeSisto has over 35 years of robust radio experience. His diverse background includes being a radio personality, producer, editor, manager, and teacher. Kelly has also been a dedicated contributor to the radio industry for over 30 years. The Philadelphia-based Aircheck: Radio Stories podcast may entertain rock fan listeners everywhere.
