Spiritualism has been a foundation of American culture since the movement's founding in the 1840s. Through the years, many have tried to find ways to communicate with the dead. Ghost Church by Jamie Loftus is a podcast that explores various aspects of spiritualism around the US.

The host and creator of this podcast is Jamie Loftus. She is a writer, comedian, and actress who has performed in several one-woman shows. These include such titles as I Lost My Virginity on August 15, 2010, and Boss, Who is Girl. She also received an Emmy nomination for her work on Robot Chicken, where she was a writer and voice actor. Although this is a comedy podcast, empathy is a key component of Ghost Church by Jamie Loftus. Sure, she thinks parts of this are silly, but Loftus never makes fun of her subjects.
