Why Mindfulness?
Text me questions or comments and include your email for a response.Welcome to Mystic Living Radio, where we dive deep into the mysteries of life and spirituality. I'm your host, Larry Laurence, and today we're exploring a topic of mindfulness. What is Mindfulness? Why has it become such a cultural phenomenon, and how it's transforming lives around the globe. Visit us at mysticlivingcenter.org for videos, practices and more...----------------SHOW NOTES----------------------------------------------Here are a few notable studies along with their authors:Mindfulness-based stress reduction and health benefits: A meta-analysis (2014) by Grossman, P., Niemann, L., Schmidt, S., & Walach, H. - This meta-analysis examined the effects of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) programs on a wide range of health outcomes, including stress reduction, anxiety, depression, and overall well-being.The effects of mindfulness-based interventions on cognition and mental health in children and adolescents: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (2019) by Dunning, D. L., Griffiths, K., Kuyken, W., Crane, C., Foulkes, L., Parker, J., & Dalgleish, T. - This meta-analysis investigated the impact of mindfulness-based interventions on cognitive functioning and mental health outcomes in children and adolescents.Mindfulness practice leads to increases in regional brain gray matter density (2011) by Hölzel, B. K., Carmody, J., Vangel, M., Congleton, C., Yerramsetti, S. M., Gard, T., & Lazar, S. W. - This study used MRI scans to examine changes in gray matter density in the brains of participants who underwent an 8-week mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) program.Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for recurrent depression: A randomized controlled trial (2000) by Segal, Z. V., Williams, J. M. G., & Teasdale, J. D. - This randomized controlled trial investigated the efficacy of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) as a relapse prevention strategy for individuals with recurrent depression. The effect of mindfulness-based therapy on anxiety and depression: A meta-analytic review (2010) by Hofmann, S. G., Sawyer, A. T., Witt, A. A., & Oh, D. - This meta-analysis examined the effectiveness of mindfulness-based therapies in reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression across multiple studies. These studies represent just a small fraction of the extensive research conducted on mindfulness over the years. They contribute valuable insights into the potential benefits of mindfulness practices for mental health, cognitive functioning, and overall well-being.Support the Show.Science, Spirituality & Mysticism

Near Death & Quantum Science
Text me questions or comments and include your email for a response. This blog post is the 2nd part of a series of three about near-death experiences. The first post is about what I went through. The other two are ways of looking at it are quantum physics and spirituality.Quantum Physics & NDEDeath and what happens to our consciousness afterward has fascinated humanity forever. Near-death experiences (NDEs) often involve profound experiences described by individuals, such as me, who have been on the brink of death, providing glimpses into a mysterious realm that lies beyond our physical existence. While science seeks to understand such phenomena, quantum physics offers tantalizing perspectives that attempt to shed light on these enigmatic occurrences. This article explores the intriguing relationship between NDEs and the fundamental principles of quantum physics, providing insights into the possibilities of an afterlife. Quantum World.Quantum physics is also known as quantum mechanics (the mathematics of quantum theories) and is a branch of physics that studies the behavior of particles at the smallest scales subatomic particles or string filaments. This field challenges our classical understanding of cause and effect and introduces concepts like wave-particle duality, entanglement, and superposition.Let's take a quick look at several concepts that are postulated to be involved in NDEs.It's Einstein's Theory of Special Relativity that has some interesting connections to near-death experiences and the afterlife. Einstein says that the NOW moment is no longer of fundamental importance. Because nothing can go faster than the speed of light. For example, When you witness something, the speed of light determines how quickly you perceive it. Sabina Hossenfielder, a quantum physicist, in her interview on the series Closer To The Truth,  says that according to Einstein, the NOW contains all moments in the past, present, and future coexisting simultaneously. She explains, since time is relative, there is no way to distinguish one moment from another; as such, those who have been here before (existed before) continue to exist in this present moment.Of course, this is not my experience or most likely your experience. But does this mean that psychic mediums are actually speaking to those on the other side?Another WorldviewDr. Stuart Hameroff, Professor Emeritus at the Departments of Anesthesiology and Psychology and the Director of the Center of Consciousness Studies at the University of Arizona, submits a quasi-religious theory.According to his concept, consciousness is a computer program for a quantum computer, the brain. He thinks that when you die, your consciousness still exists in the universe. This could explain near-death experiences. He proposes when microtubules (present in cytoplasm cells are polymers that provide structure and shape) lose their quantum state, the information within them is not destroyed. Instead, it merely leaves the body and returns to the cosmos.Hameroff says, “The quantum information within the microtubules is not destroyed, it can't be destroyed, it just distributes and dissipates to the universe at large.'If the patient is resuscitated, revived, this quantum information can go back into the microtubules and the patient says, "I had a near death experience".'According to Hameroff: 'If they are not revived, and the patient dies, it's possible that this quantum information can exist outside the body, perhaps indefinitely, as a soul.Quantum Entanglement and NDEs:One of the most fascinating aspects of quSupport the Show.Science, Spirituality & Mysticism

The Mystc Field
Text me questions or comments and include your email for a response. The Mystc field is what? As we have said, our universe came out of the primordial consciousness before space and time. Therefore, limitless consciousness is the source of all, and because everything came from this one, we are part of it. So although the theory of the Big Bang may be true, it fails to answer the other questions we posed. In 1926, Dr. Ernest Holmes, the founder of the Centers for Spiritual Living, wrote, we are surrounded by a universal mind into which we think this mind in its original state, fills all space with its presence. It fills all space, and it fills the space man uses in the universe. It is in man as well as outside him. He goes on to write the law through which man operates is infinite, but man appears to be finite. That is, he is not yet evolved to complete understanding of it. When he talks about universal mind, he's talking about consciousness. (01:26)This law is not personal and neither does it care who uses it or what it is used for. The law then is a blind force, and we need to be careful not to misuse it, but we should use it constructively. The law sometimes called the law of mental equivalence must never be overlooked. The subjective state of thought, which is the sum of a person's thinking and knowing, determines what is going to happen. It is the medium between thought and limitless consciousness. That is the subjective state or the unconscious mind is the medium between conscious thought and limitless consciousness. So the use of the laws should follow a line of inquiries like this. Do the things that you want lend themselves to a constructive living? Do they express a more abundant life, Rob or harm? No one create, no delusion, but instead, do they express a greater degree of livingness? If they do, then the universe is for us and must be behind us. If it is money, stocks, dresses, shoes, or food, all of which come from the same source, there can be nothing that denies us this greater possible living.Support the Show.Science, Spirituality & Mysticism
