On February 24th Sarah Boone and Jorge Torres would allegedly play a game of hide and go seek while they were drinking and Jorge and Sarah determined that it would be funny if Jorge climbed into a suitcase and zipped it up.  It is unclear whether that much of the story was true but what happened next is very clear based on videos that were taken by Sarah herself.  She left Jorge inside of the suitcase and went to bed only to find him dead, still inside of the suitcase, the following morning. On July 22, 1995 Elyse Pahler would sneak out of her house under the impression that she was going to smoke marijuana with three boys that she had just recently started to spend time with.  Sadly, however, she was actually leaving the house as an elaborate plan to lure her to her own murder and the reasons that they chose her to die and their motives for murder will blow your mind and you've got to hear them to believe they are even true. On the night of February 28, 1978 five young men who dealt with varying degrees of mental health and special needs difficulties ventured off to watch a basketball game at Chico State whils anticipating their own basketball tournemant that was to begin the very next day.  After the game was over the men, known as "The Boys" were to head home but instead wound up in the Plumas National Forest where they had no reason to be and no reason to go, they abandoned their car and months later four of the five men would be found dead.  There are so many more questions than answers in this sad story. On January 29th, 1979 in what was a premeditated attack, Brenda Spencer opened fire on Grover Cleveland Elementary School, which was across the street from her house.  She shot at elementary students, wounding eight of them and adults, killing two and wounding one, without remorse and when she was later questioned as to why she had opened fire on unsuspecting people she said that she didn't like Mondays and that her shooting spree had made the day more interesting. On November 27th, 2021 a young man who certainly had a rough childhood amd was suffering from some unchecked mental health struggles walked into the washroom at his school and when he walked out he was in posession of a firearm and he had one thing on his mind, death. In the end he would surrender to police but not before he took the lives of four young and vibrant students, inuured many more and caused mental anguish for even more for the lifetime to come. On December 6th, 1989 a man would find his way inside of the École Polytechnique, on the campus of The University of Montreal, and he would take the lives of fourteen women and he would also injure ten more women and four men.   The shooter, known as Marc Lépine was driven by hatred towards feminists and feminism as well as the mere thought of women attempting to achieve jobs in what he considered to be male dominated and male DESERVED fields.   Over the years people have argued about what his real motive is, but the reality is that his own words laid out quite succinctly what he was doing and what his plans were on December 6th.   December 6th is now recognized in Canada as The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in honour of these fourteen women and everyone else that endured the trauma of that day. On December 14th, 2012 one of the most disgusting and horrifying acts took place.  Not only was this a school shooting that took place but this was a school shooting that lasted five minutes and took the lives of twenty-six people, twenty of those being children in grade one, between the ages of six and seven.   Adam Lanza was a man who grew up with an obsession with guns because his mother taught him how to use them and shoot them and reload them.  He also developed an incredibly unhealthy obsession with school shooters and with mass killers that ultimately helped guide him down the dark path that he chose that ended so many innocent lives. On February 13th, 2017 Abby Williams and Libby German took advantage of a warmer than seasonal day and decided to go for a hike at the Monon High Bridge in Delphi, Indiana.  When the girls were supposed to be picked up though they were nowhere to be found and a day later their bodies were found 800 metres (half a mile) away from the bridge.  There was not an arrest made in the case until five years later in October of 2022. On September 18th, 2014 Don Stewart made a 911 call that was chilling and downright horrifying because he was calm, cool and collected as he relayes the fact that he had murdered his daughter and his six grandchildren and that he intended to turn the gun upon himself when the authorities arrived.  Don Stewart had a long history, as did much of his family, of breaking the law but this story is heart-breaking and the fact that six people had their lives ended at the hands of someone that was family makes it even more difficult to understand. On December 6th, 2014 Jessica Chambers was the victim of one of the most gruesome and grotesque murders that you could ever hear about.  Her death was very clearly planned out and very clearly personal, and yet, to this very day we still do not have answers as to who killed Jessica or why.  One man was arrested and implicated in the murder but he has so far faced two mistrials and there are doubts as to whether the case will be brought to trial another time after all of these years. On September 11, 201 nineteen year old Ruth Thalia would be on television on Peru's version of The Valour of Truth, called El Valor de la Verdad.  She would ultimately win fifteen thousand soles ($5000 U.S.) but many believe that the appearance on the show is ultimately what let to her murder at the hands of her ex-boyfriend.
