The Citrix Session: 4 New Features for Operational and IT Efficiency in Any Environment
Virtualization takes many shapes and sizes. For your business, it may make the most sense to host your applications in the cloud, so that you can expand as needed for seasonal workforces or contractors. You may need to host some applications on-premises for compliance reasons. It may make even more sense to utilize a hybrid model and host some applications in the cloud and some on-premises. However, hybrid environments can increase complexity and reduce efficiency for IT departments if not managed correctly, multiplying the number of deployments that need to be managed. With Destination: Hybrid, Citrix makes managing hybrid deployments simple and efficient. Many of our latest feature developments have been aimed at increasing operational efficiency across hybrid, cloud, and on-premises deployments. IT Admins can work from any management location they choose with Citrix, for a fully customizable solution, with no obligation to move fully to the cloud. This shift is part of our Destination: Hybrid initiative to meet you where you are, on-premises, in the cloud, or a combination of both. All of the innovations you will read about below save admins time and effort when rolling out application and desktop workloads. VDA upgrade service, Web Studio for on-premises deployments, automatic agent upgrades, and Autoscale for on-premises deployments offer a wide variety of new tools that will make your environment more efficient than ever, with less effort from your IT team.Host: Andy WhitesideCo-host: Bill SuttonCo-host: Geremy MeyersCo-host: Todd Smith

The Citrix Session: Citrix/ServiceNow Integration: Five benefits for Global Systems Integrators

The Citrix Session: Citrix/ServiceNow Integration: Five benefits for Global Systems Integrators
While chatbots have been hailed by some as the future of IT support, some IT leaders say chatbots aren’t very robust. For example, IT teams still find themselves manually handling common incidents such as virtual application and desktop session “resets.”In simpler terms, while chatbots manage IT tickets on the frontend, they still require manual help desk intervention on the backend — even for simple things. Citrix session resets have been identified as a “Top 5 use case” and the need for resets can be caused by a variety of factors, such as networking issues, forgotten passwords, or an issue with the IT organization’s chosen authentication policies, such as single sign-on or multi-factor authentication. To help relieve this burden for IT teams, Citrix and ServiceNow have developed a new solution that helps integrate ServiceNow capabilities seamlessly within the Citrix environment. This empowers IT teams to deliver always-on, automated, AI-powered support natively through another chat application such as Microsoft Teams or Slack. Not only does this integration solve significant automation challenges (such as automatic resolution of common virtual session resets) for IT teams, it also helps deliver superior customer experience to all employees, regardless location.Host: Andy WhitesideCo-host: Bill SuttonCo-host: Geremy MeyersCo-host: Todd SmithGuest: Amir TrujilloGuest: Charlie Lopez

The Citrix Session: Simplify Citrix Workspace app Management with Global App Configuration service
The rise of remote and hybrid work has allowed users to access their Citrix environments in increasingly diverse ways. To support this rise in flexible working arrangements, employers are now tasked with providing a seamless end-user experience across an array of endpoints. This adds complexity to managing, deploying, and standardizing Citrix Workspace app configurations and upgrades. Outdated Workspace app versions can lead to version drift, security vulnerabilities, discrepancies in capability, and connectivity issues – all headaches for an administrator. To address these issues, we introduced Citrix Global App Configuration Service which offers a convenient and centralized deployment solution for administrators delivering the Citrix Workspace app across devices, domains, and operating systems. Available via the Citrix Cloud console without additional licensing, Global App Configuration Service enables Citrix administrators to control and deploy Citrix Workspace app configurations and settings — without depending on 3rd party app-deployment tools across on-premise and cloud environments. Citrix teams can now manage and upgrade the Citrix Workspace app on any device accessing the Citrix environment, including BYO devices. It also provides a one-stop shop for administrators to apply application settings such as agent management, session resolution, and clipboard redirection for all end users accessing the environment. Global App Configuration Service offers essential services to streamline the admin and end-user experience of the Citrix Workspace app. These services address several major use cases such as email discovery of StoreFront/Workspace, centralized Workspace agent management, and application configuration.Host: Bill SuttonCo-host: Geremy Meyers
