He goes to tell The Ambassador. She is more than pleased. The treatment could make it possible to get the treaty. She calls Beth to join them to discuss recording for the archives. To their surprise, Beth is able to pick up and hold the Ambassador’s sword, Aladrel. They don’t tell Beth that she shouldn’t be able to touch the sword. They have another meeting to lay out the plan.   Kell prepares for a dangerous flight into the asteroid belt. The Ambassador uses the Ancient Arts to enhance his ability to see whatever he needs to see. The Captain and Commander Brandon along with three other officers prepare to monitor Kell’s flight. Things go well. Just as he’s finishing, his cruiser is sent spinning. At first, he can’t get control of it. Then, he remembers what the Ambassador told him and he can see a way through. The Central Alliance High Council has sent First Contact Ambassador Micha Lawrence on a dangerous mission. She is going to distant Ka’len to try to get a treaty and to find out what the invading Olmeri are up to.In the previous episode, the Ambassador appeared before the High Council and was given her assignment. She spoke with her friend, President Aliel Smbarak about the problem. N'amani called to tell her he was able to get all their supplies. She recalled how he was assigned, their first mission, and his fighting skills.In this episode, the Ambassador finishes getting ready and leaves for the orbiting space station to meet the Magellan. She is surprised by Commander Brandon telling her that the Magellan has a new Captain. She meets Captain Alexander Logan, tests him, and uses the Ancient Arts to look into his heart. If she has to trust him with the lives of her team, she's not going to waste time with small talk, She likes what she sees. She introduces the Captain to her team. N'amani, the Doctor, Beth, and Kell. The Captain is surprised to meet Kell.  The Captain takes command of the Magellan. We meet Maja, the ship's AI.  The Ambassador and N'amani discuss a previous mission and Captain Logan. As they get underway, the Ambassador tells them about their mission. The Captain expresses his concern. N'amani reassures him by telling him that doing the next-to-impossible is what they do.In the next episode, the Doctor discovers Ka'len has cinchona that can be used to make a cure for malaria. The invading Olmeri have been spotted just outside the Local Neighborhood, near the Hyades Cluster.  The High Council wants her to go all the way out there, try to get a treaty with Ka’len and stop the Olmeri.  They have assigned the Magellan to be her transport and her over watch.
