When I heard of Google Notebook LM, I wanted to see how it could review a tool I created for sharing notes with the public.  So, it consumed the website for ShowNotes and made a charming deep dive episode that jibes with me perfectly!As a tech founder, I am constantly building small tools for myself and potentially, dare I say it, customers :)So when I can point Google Notebook LM to do a deep dive into my published content for this app and have it come back with what it did, this is an excellent validation that this project is potentially worth something to others. Again, founders are going to create tools, and there are times when the tools have utility for others and when tools are just eye candy or toys for the founder. Since I made it in January 2024, I have used it to share many notes with friends and family, and I enjoy using it every day. However, having an intelligent analysis of the site and a deep dive into the purpose of this app by a third party, in this case, Google Notebook LM, is a really good way for me to think positively about what I have done. I am not saying this is a user/community validation. I wanted to see how Google Notebook LM does with videos. Knowing Google is behind both Notebook LM and YouTube, I figured it would have an easy time with this task. It did. It did an excellent job of analyzing the video.The video is mostly Bengali, which was nothing for Google Notebook LM. He has severe opinions on all things that matter in our modern life. He shares his political views on music choices on X. He often gets in public debates with other public figures, his viewpoints backed by his reading on the economy and his massive understanding of data science. Needless to say, I am a fan that he will never know. I agree with many of his viewpoints beyond artificial intelligence, but there will definitely be some disagreements because we all view things in our own reality and are not all privy to the same information.I would go as far as to say that I remain on X because I can closely follow people like Dr. Yann LeCun. The Notebook LM from Google is simply a game changer. It gives me reasons to believe that Google is ahead of everyone in the AI race. Sometimes, we techniques who know a thing or two about AI companies and their widgets think that Google and Apple dropped the ball when Microsoft led the race by joining forces with OpenAI. I was shocked in the early days—about two years ago—that OpenAI used Google's transformer technology to beat Google to its own tech dominance game. Google has had many failures with AI. I do not use any of their AI products directly.  I tried all the goodies like Gemini Advanced to Google Docs AI integration, and they all sucked severely.However, a day ago, I discovered a killer app from Google: Apple Grade and Beyond. The poorly named product in the experimental stage—Notebook LM—is a game changer. It allows any creator, like me, to validate what we have been doing with something we are passionate about. For example, I am building many tools for founders, from taking public notes to using AI to manage projects most passively. Users who have no idea where to find these tools must validate them. However, I can use Notebook LM to dive deeply into my product data/contents and see how the AI sees my offerings.This will allow creators, founders, and marketers to have a third-party, deep-dive analysis of their offerings, from marketing content to actual product videos and pre-usage validation, which will allow more tweaking and refinement of the offering.
