Our Editor's Take

Krew Season is a discussion podcast representing individuality, boldness, and blunt honesty. No matter the topic, the hosts say what they mean without censorship or fear of the consequences. That attitude sets these four men apart from the hosts of the other podcasts out there.

Anthony Cockrell founded the Krew Season YouTube channel in 2018. Cockrell was already quite successful on Twitter under the handle TheTrillAC. He had features on ESPN, TMZ, and Worldstar. With the channel, the internet celebrity wanted to create something more collaborative. He invited three of his closest friends to join—Matthew Dunbar, OT Sowell, and Kenneth Tongue. Together, the four started posting videos about relationships, family, and money advice.

The channel's main focus was to examine the different ways men and women think regarding any aspect of life. Often, the hosts would invite female guests to debate and present both sides of an argument. They've since made their discussions more accessible with the Krew Season podcast. The hosts wanted to have a platform for strong Black men to be successful and vulnerable at the same time.

The podcast examines issues like how childhood trauma shapes how adults behave in a partnership. They talk about traditional gender roles and whether people should uphold them. Sometimes, the hosts respond to popular TikTok and Instagram videos about romantic life. For instance, they share a video of a woman's wedding, where she refuses to obey her husband. Another video claims that successful women find it harder to date. In every discussion, there are four different points of view. The hosts present their opinions and often like to debate to see which side is right.

The Krew Season podcast has both men and women in mind as the audience. Male listeners can learn more about opening up, working on themselves, and growing. Women might enjoy having the hosts' views on what they search for in relationships. New episodes drop several times per month.
