Every summer, the Southampton Fresh Air Home camp program is run by a group of approximately 60 staff members from different parts of the world. In this episode, we asked them what memories stood out to them from their time at SFAH this summer. The Southampton Fresh Air Home (SFAH) just finished their 122nd summer camp program. This episode contains campers from our program sharing their favorite memories of their time at SFAH in 2023. Although our campers have physical disabilities, their summer camp experiences and stories are unlimited, just like anyone else who has ever attended a summer camp. On episode 2, we have an honest conversation with 2 'Red Liberty' campers who’ve recently begun their first year at college as well as meet a new SFAH staff member. We’ll get into the excitement of “adulting” and also the unexpected challenges they faced after finishing high school. We’ll also be picking the brains of our able-bodied newcomer about the perceptions of living with a disability. Lastly, we get really deep and philosophical about what the future of disability advocacy can look like.
