Hanson Oak's - The Recalling (An Immersive Horror Podcast)

Hanson Oak

The Recalling is a patchwork of untrustworthy memories. The story of my life is not linear. Instead, it comes to me in a series of horrific flashes and cherished moments and if I'm to tell my story honestly, I will have to share both.

The stories feature creatures that may be recognizable but most you've never seen or heard of.

The tales unravel in places that may seem familiar and locations that can be found on no map and suffer no names.

Some memories will be disturbing, others may be wondrous, yet all will be dark as light is not a place I've spent much time in.

Before we begin, I must ask you to be careful.

My memories may become your nightmares and my experiences may prove your cautionary tales - but that will only serve to bring us closer together as parts of this podcast are quite interactive.

If you enjoy the podcast, please rate, subscribe, and leave a review to help others find it.

Presented in immersive 3D audio - Headphones and discretion are advised.

If the mood should strike you, I encourage you to reach out to me via social media:

S. 1 Ep. 14 Christmas Mourning (A Horror Podcast) Holiday Special Event
The podcast has come full circle. Almost a year ago, I began it by telling a story called "Coffins for Christmas" that has since become the most popular and shared episode of the season. That, along with all those that followed, have been downloaded thousands of times in over a dozen countries. To say I'm surprised at this success would be an understatement as the moment I put that holiday episode out into the world, I thought, "Who will want to hear the tales of my strange life?"So as we move into season two, I thought it only fitting to end where it began, telling the story of Christmas in a way you have not experienced. In this one, we look into the past to the blood that began one of its most cherished traditions. But this is not my story.During my intermission episodes that answered listener questions, I would often go into my library for those answers. This collection I've built over the years has rare books and journals, many the only that exist, and contain facts, descriptions, and events of a most macabre and terrifying nature. The feed back was unmistakable, you've all enjoyed this glimpse into my private collection. So that is where I dipped into once more for the topic of this episode, to read an account both terrifying and telling, I hope when you look at common decorations after listening, you see them in a different, and darker way.Episodes are created using 3D Audio.Discretion and Headphones are advised.LISTEN / SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST:Spotify: http://bit.ly/3J1XZ3wiHeart Radio: http://bit.ly/3XKsVcPApple: http://bit.ly/3IWBTiLAmazon Music:http://bit.ly/3Xlv0MhGoogle Podcasts: http://bit.ly/3WWAQD7 WEBSITE:http://www.hansonoak.comCONTACT ME: HansonOakStories@gmail.comTHREADS: @Hanson_OakMASTADON: @HansonOakBluesky: @HansonOak.bsky.social#HansonOak  #HansonOakPodcast

S. 1 EP. 13 It Came From a Corpse (A Horror Podcast)
One thing ends and another begins – but this is the space in between.During the intermission between seasons I've been focused on answering listener requests in the form of bite sized episodes - though I couldn't help but stretch some even further. In this full length (and then some) tale, I recall my one and only encounter with a strange creature called a Rivinia. It is a story I barely lived to tell. In all my travels and all my books, this creature has been a rumor. I've never seen so much as a detailed sketch of it, let alone a photo or video - and with almost the entire population of the world holding an HD camera at the ready for anything that might gain them views on social media, one has to question if it exists at all.In this story, I will show you that it does and that its origin is stranger and more disturbing than anything you've ever imagined. In a few weeks, I will announce the arrival of season two. I hope to go even deeper into the world you've never seen and tell you of the horrifying creatures and strange places I've seen. I will tell you blood curdling stories of my childhood and personal stories of my family. You are invited to go as deep as you dare into the recesses of my memories.I hope that if you enjoy my stories, you will subscribe, rate, or leave a comment so that others might follow the same trail that has lead you to this podcast. If you’re new to the podcast, I encourage you to take a step back into the first season to learn more about me and my life. Episodes are created using 3D Audio.Discretion and Headphones are advised.LISTEN / SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST:Spotify: http://bit.ly/3J1XZ3wiHeart Radio: http://bit.ly/3XKsVcPApple: http://bit.ly/3IWBTiLAmazon Music:http://bit.ly/3Xlv0MhGoogle Podcasts: http://bit.ly/3WWAQD7 WEBSITE:http://www.hansonoak.comCONTACT ME: HansonOakStories@gmail.comTHREADS: @Hanson_OakMASTADON: @HansonOakTHE ASHES OF TWITTER: @HansonOakBLUESKY: @HansonOak#HansonOak  #HansonOakPodcast

Listener Episode 9: Cheeky Bones (A Horror Podcast)
One thing ends and another begins – but this is the space in between. Before the new season of The Recalling begins, these bite sized episodes will live in the void, but they are much more. They are an index of creatures that surround us, monsters with no names, angels with no wings, the folklore that folklore forgot. Each short episode will introduce you to the things under your bed and in your closet. What makes them even more special is that they feature the podcasts listeners themselves. Sailing on the raft of their curiosity, they’ve asked me to tell them what lurks in the shadows around them where they live.If you’ve ever told yourself there’s nothing there, that you’re alone, that there’s nothing to be scared of, all while the hairs on the back of your neck beg to differ, then perhaps you should reach out to me and ask.In this short (ish) episode, listener Tess asked me to discuss the darker parts of London's history. More succinctly, she was curious what parts of that past linger in the shadows of the modern city. The darkness in the corners of a city like London is thick with tragedy that remains unsettled and unknown - to pick just one story is a challenge. However, I've settled on one that I have a long-time affinity for. To understand the present danger, I have to take you back to a past tragedy and the history that came even before that. Only then will you comprehend the life and death of Ardith, the Reclaimer.  If you’re new to the podcast, I encourage you to take a step back into the first season to learn more about me and my life. Episodes are created using 3D Audio.Discretion and Headphones are advised.LISTEN / SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST:Spotify: http://bit.ly/3J1XZ3wiHeart Radio: http://bit.ly/3XKsVcPApple: http://bit.ly/3IWBTiLAmazon Music:http://bit.ly/3Xlv0MhGoogle Podcasts: http://bit.ly/3WWAQD7 WEBSITE:http://www.hansonoak.comCONTACT ME: HansonOakStories@gmail.comTHREADS: @Hanson_OakMASTADON: @HansonOakTHE ASHES OF TWITTER: @HansonOak#HansonOak  #HansonOakPodcast

Yes, there are some but the vast forests that once covered it have been done away with and while there are many theories why, I'd like to add one more - one that I have read about only sporadically as the branches of history are sometimes trimmed or cut off completely. It is the story of giants, Vikings, and bravery in the face of horror. It is a connection between nations and the darkness we, as people, have always had to endure and overcome to carve out our place on this planet.

S. 1 Ep. 11 The Bloat (A Horror Podcast)
While this space between the last season of The Recalling and the next has been set aside for short episodes, I couldn't resist telling you of something that just happened to me. So, I sat down, covered in dirt, blood, and fluids I'd rather not speak of, to bring you the events of last night. When my work comes local, almost to my doorstep, there is a great sense of urgency to it. It feels as if I'm pushing the storm clouds back and fighting to preserve the one spot in the sun I can call my own. Just yesterday, as I was enjoying a rare day of leisure, those clouds amassed on a farm just a few miles from my home. Something strange was happening in those fields. While the New England landscape is settling down to sleep for the winter, the grasses that stretched over the grazing fields here was vibrant and growing quickly. While that was strange enough, it was nothing compared to the fact that the cows that ate it were beginning to explode. The night that followed led to the discovery of a creature I'd never seen but whose story I often think.

S: 1 Ep: 9 The Rumors of my Death - Part 1 (A Horror Podcast)
In this episode of The Recalling, the Grivvals have been tasked with answering a very troubling question - why the last episode was not posted. Each day I wake I realize it may be the last time I do so. My work is such that each minute I find myself still alive is a reason for celebration. During my most recent travels I found myself in a situation there seemed to be no way out from. When I can avoid it, I will not fly. My reason? If the plane decides to no longer operate as designed, to no longer listen to the pilots commanding it, to follow that constant and irresistible call of gravity, there is little I can do to ensure I will walk away from the wreckage. Even if I manage to leap from the exit door on the way to impact, I can not fly.But I can swim. For this reason I take boats at any opportunity I can find. Small boats, large ships, anything that floats is preferable to anything that flies for the single reason that if a ship goes down I still have a chance to survive. However, there are variables to consider. For example, what is IN the waters that surround me.Sometimes the answer to that simple question makes me yearn to be in a plane saftley soaring through the sky.Presented in 3D audio.Headphones and discretion are advised.LISTEN / SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST:Spotify: http://bit.ly/3J1XZ3w iHeart Radio: http://bit.ly/3XKsVcPApple: http://bit.ly/3IWBTiLAmazon Music:http://bit.ly/3Xlv0MhGoogle Podcasts: http://bit.ly/3WWAQD7 Twitter/Mastodon: @HansonOak WEBSITE: http://www.hansonoak.com CONTACT ME: HansonOakStories@gmail.com #HansonOak  #HansonOakPodcast #Horror #ScaryStories #Folkore #Dreams #Scary #horrorstory #storytelling #TheRecalling #horrorpodcast

The theory of the multiverse has become quite popular lately, not just in the realm of pop culture but in exacting fields of science as well. The more we learn about the universe and ourselves, the stranger and more likely it is that this existence is just one of many – but we already knew that deep inside, didn’t we?The worlds we see in our dreams may not just be our minds painting pictures as we rest. They may very well be windows to real places that exist in the past, present, or future. While you consider this possibility, consider something far more terrifying. If these places are possible then so are the creatures that inhabit them. Put simply, every nightmare you’ve had with monsters and creatures hungry for death may very well be waiting just on the other side of the line that divides this world from those. It may not be “…just a dream…” after all.In this episode of the recalling I want to show you how close we all are to being lost to those worlds and creatures every time we close our eyes.Episodes are created using 3D Audio.Discretion and Headphones are advised.LISTEN / SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST:Spotify: http://bit.ly/3J1XZ3wiHeart Radio: http://bit.ly/3XKsVcPApple: http://bit.ly/3IWBTiLAmazon Music:http://bit.ly/3Xlv0MhGoogle Podcasts: http://bit.ly/3WWAQD7 WEBSITE:http://www.hansonoak.comCONTACT ME: HansonOakStories@gmail.comTHREADS: @Hanson_OakMASTADON: @HansonOakTHE ASHES OF TWITTER: @HansonOak#HansonOak  #HansonOakPodcast
