The Mindful Nutritionist Shares Her Story Of Overweight to Underweight w/ Jackie Kirschen
Today's episode is full of amazing information from The Mindful Nutritionist, Jackie Kirschen. She shares her story of being overweight at a very young age to going to the extreme of being underweight and developing an eating disorder. Below you will find her bio and I know you are going to love this episode!Jackie's info can be found at The Mindful Weight Loss Academy - Eat Right 4 Life"I’m Jackie, owner & Registered Dietitian behind Eat Right 4 Life, specializing in weight loss, bariatrics and childhood obesity. I work w/ adults, kids and families who are overwhelmed with how to lose weight and are tired of dieting, so they can finally feel confident in their bodies, enjoy food w/o feeling guilty and finally lose weight and keep it off for good!As your Registered Dietitian and nutrition coach, I’m here to provide you with all the tools & guidance you need to finally transform your mind & body so you can achieve the results you’ve been longing for all these years! Through personalized nutrition guidance, I make reaching your goals easy & set you up for long-term success. Nutrition & weight loss can seem overwhelming and confusing. I will work with you & empower you to become the expert of your own health! My dedication to nutrition & wellness was inspired by my own personal struggles. While growing up, I was always active playing a team sport. However, I was never properly taught how to fuel my body with nutritious foods that could help improve my athletic and academic performance. By the end of my freshman year at Emory University, I weighed my heaviest with a BMI considered morbidly obese on my 5-foot small frame. I never considered the connection my food choices had on my quality of life and health. After being diagnosed as pre-diabetic in college, the fear of disease, the long term consequences of being overweight, and determination for good health sparked my long weight loss journey. I reevaluated the way in which I nourished my body, both physically and mentally, and began to change my unhealthy eating habits into a healthy lifestyle. After one year of making small healthy changes, I lost 65 pounds & have kept the weight off ever since! My quest to finding a healthy lifestyle did not end the day I reached my goal weight—it catalyzed my passion in the field of nutritional science and encouraged me to become a Registered Dietitian. After seeking answers to my ailments, I became fascinated with the remarkable healing properties of food and nutrition and knew that I wanted to help people in a similar way. I discovered my love of nutrition & have never looked back!My personal wellness journey inspired me to help others find their own “aha” moments just as I did many years ago. I absolutely love what I do & promise to continue spreading my knowledge and passion for nutrition, health, and wellness. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing my clients reach their specific health goals through the work we do together. I feel incredibly fortunate to practice what I love every single day & hope I get to work with you!"Thanks so much for listening! A Mom, A Runner, A Wine Guru & A Fitness Instructor - The Fab Four
Hello and welcome to the Spandex & Wine podcast. I'm your host, Robin Hackney, and today is a special episode because you don’t get 1 guest…you’ll be hearing from 4! About 6 months ago, I went through a workshop on podcasting under the direction of Cathy Heller. It was such a wonderful experience and one of the tasks she has us do was break into accountability groups. I’m happy to say that ours is still together and we are thriving with each other’s support. Today you get to hear from each of them plus me as we ask the others one question that pertains to our individual podcasts. Let me give you just a bit about each one…Becca Ingersoll is a mom of twin boys with special needs and a survivor of many hard knocks of life. She lives in Utah and her podcast is Finding Joy through Life’s Trials:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/finding-joy-through-lifes-trials/id1724570400Alison Fraser lives in New Zealand and has two podcasts… Women Who Podcast and Our Scotland. She also has a passion for running and ParkRuns in particular.https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/women-who-podcast-how-to-start-run-and-grow-your-podcast/id1653722280Our Scotland on Apple PodcastsPenny Fitzgerald is a wine guru whom I knew before our podcasting workshop through Traveling Vineyard. She was my mentor and I’m so grateful to have her as a friend with me on this journey. What a wonderful support she has been over the years! Her podcast is Penny for your Shots… conversations (and cocktails) with brilliant women. She & I are also teaming up to host the first year of WINE CAMP in September of 2024 in Texas Hill Country.https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/penny-for-your-shots/id1710278186Pour something in your glass that makes you happy and let’s jump in…..Thanks so much for listening! Reclaim Your Self-Confidence & Feel Empowered with a Boudoir Photo Session w/ Emily Steele
Today’s guest offers services to help women reclaim their self-confidence and experience a sense of empowerment through boudior photo sessions. Emily Steele has been a photographer for 20 years. She has been featured in various magazines and in Times Square during New York Fashion week. I think you’ll really enjoy this episode! I was surprised in our conversation how many similarities there are between our two businesses. What a cool job! Thanks Emily for sharing your time & story. Here are a few takeaways:1.     If you’re looking for empowerment or to reclaim/build self-confidence, book a boodwaar session. Check the show notes for Emily’s info or visit emilysteelestudios.com.2.     Size DOESN’T matter (or shape). You ARE beautiful and deserve to feel that way!3.     The more uncomfortable we are in safe situations the more we grow. Push yourself & surround yourself with those that will encourage you.4.     The more that we use things such as alcohol to alter the state of the mind, the less we can work through things. Face fears head on without using anything to mask or numb out of it. I am booking my session with Emily so if I forget to report back to you, nudge me! Thanks for listening and please share this episode with a friend who deserves to feel beautiful and empowered.Kansas City's AMAZING Boudoir Experience by Emily Steele StudiosThanks so much for listening!
