In today's episode, we have the privilege of speaking with Dr. Greg Valcante and Tracy Cox, who represent University of Florida Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (UF CARD). Dr. Greg Valcante is the former Director of the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities and a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. He has a wealth of experience in the field of autism, having worked as a teacher, administrator, and researcher for over 40 years.And Tracy Cox is an Education/Training Specialist at UF CARD, where they provide essential services and support to individuals with autism and related disabilities, as well as their families. Stacey Hoagland is a dedicated advocate and leader in the field of disability rights and empowerment. With over two decades of experience, Stacey has been at the forefront of efforts to support individuals with disabilities and their families in navigating the transition from childhood to adulthood.Throughout her career, Stacey has been a driving force in promoting positive opportunities and support for families affected by disability. She has played a pivotal role in empowering parents, individuals, and communities to advocate for the rights and well-being of those with developmental disabilities.As a facilitator of the Partners in Policymaking Program, Stacey has helped individuals with developmental disabilities and parents become community leaders and catalysts for systems change. Her work focuses on teaching advocacy, leadership, and effective policymaking to create meaningful improvements in the lives of Floridians with developmental disabilities.Stacey's commitment to the disability community extends beyond her role as a facilitator.
