Our Editor's Take

Two friends, Michelle and Kandi, are behind the Sips Of Crime: A True Crime Podcast. It's a compelling true crime podcast formed in 2022. The narrative centers around renowned criminals. The suspense lingers through each story, creating a vibrant backdrop. The cozy banter between the hosts adds authenticity and warmth to the podcast. It adds a unique flavor to the usually heavy content.

Michelle's interest in true crime, inspired by her mother, drives this project. Her love started with Law & Order and moved towards true crime podcasts. Kandi, with her passion for reading and quality moments with loved ones, blended her hobbies with Michelle's. This blend laid the foundation for the Sips Of Crime: A True Crime Podcast. It also served as a meeting ground for the two moms to discuss intriguing cases while sipping adult beverages. For each episode, they give details on what they are sipping while chatting.

True crime fans may be familiar with some of the stories here. When the Barbie movie came out in 2023, the hosts did an episode on Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka. These two Canadians were called the Ken and Barbie killers. They were blonde, attractive, and didn't look like murderers. Yet they killed and sexually abused multiple people, including Karla's own sister. Other cases on the podcast are less well-known, like that of cannibal Armin Meiwes.

Michelle and Kandi’s chemistry does wonders in captivating the listeners. The mix of hair-raising tales and friendly conversation offers an enjoyable listening experience. The episodes just feature the two of them. But the absence of guest appearances hasn’t affected the charm of the podcast.

Interaction is a key trait of this podcast. Listeners can witness their own stories portrayed on the show. That is a unique feature to this true crime program.

This show is an exciting oasis for true crime fans. It offers them a chance to submerge in bone-chilling tales while taking pleasure in the warmth of two friendly hosts. Most Sips Of Crime: A True Crime Podcast episodes debut twice a month.
