S2.E13 | Scripture Enactment
Happy Shenanigan day!! This week your hosts discuss scripture enactment: what it is, why it is sometimes controversial, and an example of why engaging scripture this way matters for all of us. What's your experience (or inexperience) with scripture enactment? Speaking of scripture enactment, the Wayfolk Arts crew will be spending this season engaging in the practice and inviting community members to join them! In doing so, we will be sharing more content on our socials (posted below). To create space for this, episodes are going to temporarily switch to a once a month posting schedule. We hope you will follow along with us as we engage scripture in this special way. Liturgical Shenanigans is a Wayfolk Arts podcast. You can learn more about us on our website: http://www.wayfolkarts.com. Did you know that you can communicate with us via any of our socials (listed below) or by joining our discord channel: Wayfolk Arts Discord Family??? Here you will find various pathways to discuss different liturgical topics or to just say hello. You can also chime into Maddie and Jackson's ongoing debate about what words in the english language are indeed not difficult for only Maddie to grasp and, thus, worth defining. Hope to see you there! Follow us on Instagram @WayfolkArts and our Facebook page "Wayfolk Arts,". Love what you're hearing and want more? Become a patron! As a patron, you are granted access to extended conversation via our after show, a wider range of resources, and community building opportunities with Wayfolk Arts. We would love for you to join us. Happy Liturgical Shenanigan Day ANNDDD Happy Advent! This week the team discusses what it means to engage embodied practices and shenanigans. What does embodied mean? What is it to worship with our whole selves? Does this make worship more or less accessible?  This year for advent, we at Wayfolk Arts were commissioned by Emmaus Church of Holland, MI to assist in the development of a devotional entitled "Embodied Advent." Each week features a scripture reflection and an embodied practice to engage. You can access the full devotional on Emmaus Church's website here: https://emmausreformedchurch.org/advent-devotional/. S2.E1 | Wayfolk Manifesto
ANNNNNNDDD we're back! In this episode your favorite shenantanigizers return and discuss what exactly they believe and long for Wayfolk Arts to do via a manifesto. You can read the draft of the manifesto they engage here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zcu8fRf1Snx6VrIr-xerjzEhrNsNX2jgcd5bhUzMUk0/edit?usp=sharing Correction corner- Hannah defends her choice of the word manifesto by claiming a love for a Wendell Berry poem she titles "The Mad Farmer Manifesto" when it is in fact titled "Manifesto: The Mad Farmer Liberation Front." Her error is valid but an error none-the-less.  We want to know your personal manifestos!
