Our Editor's Take

Attitudes! is a podcast for people who want to stay informed about racial and gender politics. Hosts Erin Gibson and Bryan Safi discuss anything. Male birth control and anti-drag laws, for example, are just a few of the show's topics. The hosts talk about no-fault divorce, abortion restrictions, and censorship. But Erin and Bryan keep the conversations lighthearted. They infuse each episode with tons of humor and banter. Their goal is to use entertainment to educate listeners about crucial issues.

The hosts of Attitudes! are both accomplished comedians. Erin appears on Parks and Recreation, the Kroll Show, and Key & Peele. She also earned several Emmy nominations for her work on the short-form series Gay of Thrones. In 2018, Erin published Feminasty, a collection of funny personal essays.

Cohost Bryan has also had many TV appearances on comedy shows. These include Superstore, The Big Bang Theory, and Modern Family. As a comedy writer, he contributed to Fashion Police and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he won a Daytime Emmy for his work.

Erin and Bryan met in 2011 while performing with the improv group Upright Citizens Brigade. Later, the pair wrote for the satirical news show InfoMania. Erin and Bryan became close friends due to their passion for activism. They are both vocal about women's and LGBTQIA+ rights. They created this podcast to voice those opinions through humor. When they started it in 2011, they called it Throwing Shade. In 2020, they rebranded it to Attitudes!

The hosts of Attitudes! talk about important news and entertaining topics. For instance, they discuss a donkey parade and a trial against a woman who had a miscarriage in the same episode. In another, they discuss Korean personal color analysis and protection for pregnant workers.

New episodes of the Attitudes! podcast come out weekly.
