Demand a New Normal: Womens Strike 2021
The 8th of March is the day women strike. This movement began in Argentina in October 2016 where the first strike was held after the violent murder of Lucía Pérez. The movement has gained traction, with women joining from every corner of the world, it allows us to make the call from a different position, from a place of rage and anger as opposed to victimhood. This week we have members of the Bristol Womens Strike Assembly joining us to discuss their Demands for women. We share perspectives from people identifiying as male, women, queer and we have representations from the Sex workers in our cityThe rallying cry...Stop and imagine a world where we no longer contribute to our daily labour, this world would not function without our work. This past year has been a constant feminist struggle. The feminist movement is what keeps us moving forward. On the 8th of March, we still want to strike!
