Gentry, founder of The Gentry Law Firm in Marietta, GA, has been practicing law in Georgia since 1986. His primary focus is divorce and family law cases, including high asset property division, child custody, and alimony. Bill has tried hundreds of cases in state and federal courts throughout Georgia and dozens of appeals in both state and federal appellate courts in Georgia.      He is admitted to and has argued in the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals in Atlanta. Bill received his B.A from the University of Virginia (1981) and received his J.D. from the University of Georgia (1986). Bill is a Past President of the Cobb County Bar Association.      He served on the Board of Governors of the State Bar of GA since 2012 and is now the Treasurer, State Bar of Georgia (2024-present). He is now the author of the new book “I Want Out-A Woman’s Guide to Finding Peace Through Divorce” that answers many questions about divorce and we are going to explore this with Bill. Today on the podcast, Robin and Lester interview current President of the State Bar of Georgia, Judge Ivy Cadle. Guest Bio Ivy Cadle is the managing shareholder for Baker Donelson’s Atlanta and Macon offices, and has established himself as a leading “dirt lawyer,” an advocate for property rights in the areas of real estate, eminent domain, land use, zoning, conservation easements and commercial lending litigation. Ivy is also a certified public accountant. Ivy represents companies of all sizes in complex business litigation and counsels them on regulatory compliance and data security, across a broad range of industries – including real estate, health care, financial services, and telecommunications.  His clients include oil and gas interests, fast food franchisors and franchisees, hotel investors, private medical practices, hospitals, insurance companies, cellular service providers, banks, mortgage servicers, commercial, shopping center and office developers, national drugstore chains, residential real estate developers, convenience  store chains and a variety of individually owned enterprises, and business operations.   Ivy is a mediator and registered neutral with the Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution. Outside of the office, Ivy serves as an adjunct professor of law at the Mercer University School of Law where he teaches Accounting for Lawyers. He is also an aviation enthusiast, and he currently holds a multi-engine commercial certificate with an instrument rating.   Ivy obtained his EMT certificate while still in high school and worked as an EMT for a couple of years following graduation from high school in Swainsboro, GA Ivy received a B.S. in Biology  from UGA, A Masters degree in Accounting J.D. from Mercer Univ. School of Law (alongside his wife, Leslie Cadle). He is a past president of the Macon Bar Association and past president of the American Inn of Court, William Augustus Bootle Chapter.
