Leanne Pompeani won the National Cross Country Championship over 10km held at Launceston, Tasmania ahead of local Ruby Smee, then Holly Campbell for NSW. NSW were the winning team, followed by Victoria and ACT.
Seth O’Donnell outkicked Ed Marks in the mud as Haftu Strintzos finished third to make it a Victorian podium sweep, who were also the winning team ahead of NSW and Queensland.

The World Junior Athletics Champions in Lima, Peru saw several young distance stars take centre stage, with several silver medals awarded to Claudia Hollingsworth in the 800m, Peyton Craig also in the 800m and Cameron Myers in 1500m.

Jess Hull came fourth in the Rome Diamond League 1500m in 3:54.98, continuing her good form from the Olympics behind reigning champion Faith Kipyegon while Linden Hall bounced back running 3:58.94. Morgan McDonald ran 13:20.52 in the 5000m with Hagos Gebrehewit taking it out in 12:51.07 while Winifred Yavi narrowly missed the 3000m Steeplechase World Record in her 8:44.39 victory.
Rome Diamond League Results
Jarryd Clifford crossed the finish line in third in the T13 5000m at the Paralympic Games in France, only to be disqualified for dropping his tether metres before the finish line. Michael Roeger won silver in the T46 1500m in 3:51.19.

Elliott Giles sets the official Road Mile World Record of 3:51.3 ahead of Yared Nuguse in Düsseldorf, Germany.
